you can find books in your local libabry, under wedding materials. You can also buy the wedding megazines where-ever they are sold. They have some good ideas. I too, am making my own center pieces. For mine, I have to different things. I am getting mirrors and doing different arrangements with candles in my wedding colors. The other one is with mirrors also, putting a clear glass bowls in the center and filling it with water, those clear rocks (again in my colors) and floating candles (which I hope to get snowflakes because I am having a winter wedding!!! can't wait!) I am also having glitter/sparkles on the mirrors or tables. If it turns out as I imagine it, it will be beautiful and truly magical! Good Luck with your planning!

If you have a local garden center it might be usefull. I am from a very small rural town and our garden center is letting me cut buckets and buckets of fresh flowers for a set rate. very cheap. I am putting my flowers in crystal wine glasses that i have collected and surrounding the glasses with ball candles. Use your resources and don't be afraid to make an offer. (ebay wholesale) Otherwise you can frame photos or buy cheap flowers (carnations ect) and cut off the petals..they look wonderful on white table linens. Walgreens has 10 cent votive candle sales (we cleared our town out when our sale ***e around ) or you could tie balloons together for height. it did look nice for a more casual wedding. they used dove candy bars with love quotes too. I hope some of these ideas help! by the way, nobody has replied to my post (motorcycle prosession)...have any ideas? Thanks!

Definitely the local library. Also, craft or fabric stores have how-to books and most offer classes on tons of different subjects (including decorating your own wedding cake!). Beware of bridal magazines. Most are glorified compilations of ads and the ideas you see in them may not be realistically do-able. Be sure to try them out well in advance to see whether they are feasible. Definitely the votive candle sales are a great bargain....we hit them every year for luminarias around the church on Christmas Eve! The main thing is to not get carried away with either expenses or time involvement for your centerpieces as it can come around to bite you in the you-know-where ! Good luck!

Here is a good resource for finding a wedding cake:

http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-decorating-photos.html

Lots of traditional, victorian, seashell, contemporary and crazy cakes, as well as a gallery sorted by color scheme.
