Default soloist

Are you having a soloist at your ceremony? If so, what song are you having sung? I'm looking for something for my matron of honor to sing. She is a soprano.

I am having a few soloists actually. My sister will be singing "Could Not Ask for More" by Sara Evans, my brother will be doing "The Day Before You" by Rascal Flatts, and a friend will be singing "From this Moment" by Shania Twain.

How 'bout "The Wedding Song"? I can't think of many of the words, but the chorus goes something like "There is love, there is love". That's a bad description but I'm sure you have heard it before. I will try to think of more...

Here it is:

He is now to be among you
at the calling of your hearts
rest assured this trubador is acting on his part

Union of your spirits here has caused him to remain
For Whenever two or more you are gathered in his name
There is love
There is love

Well a man shall leave his mother
and a woman leave her home
and they shall travel on the where the two shall be as one
As it was in the begining
is now until the end
woman draws her life from man
then gives it back again
and there is love
there is love

Well then whats to be the reason
for becoming man and wife
is it love that brings you here
or love that brings you life

Oh if loving is the answer
then whos the giving force
do you belive in something
that youve never seen before
there is love
oh, there's love

Hmmm mmm mmm mmm
mmm mmm

Oh the marriage of your spirits her has caused him to remain
For whenever two or more of you are gathered in his name
There is love
there is love

I love the lyrics and was able to hear a version of it last week and I think that is the song I want to use...only thing is now I have to find a version of it that isn't too "corny". Thanks for the input though...I think that song will be perfect!

I'm not having a soloist but my songs will be played on CD by my Nephew behind the scenes.

My Songs are:

Prelude: Inseperable by Natalie Cole
You are my Lady by Freddie Jackson
Ribbion In The Sky by Stevie Wonder
You Light Up My Life by Whitney Houston
I Believe In You and Me by Whitney Houston
Here and Now by Luther Vandross (My FH will enter on this song) and the Groom's family will enter off this as well

From Monther to Daughter - My Mother's and siblings (who are not in the wedding) enter off this song

Wedding Party: The Lady, Her Lover and Lord, by Shirley Murdock

Brides Procession: For You by Kenny Latimore

Recessional Song: When God Gave Me You by Jessie ***pbell

Hope any of these songs helps!

We are having a soloist..He actually plays the acoustic guitar, and since we are having a candlelit ceremony at 7 pm, I didnt want to use the organist at the church, it seems too loud for the type of ceremony we want. He will sit and play his guitar as the guests are entering, and then during the lighting of the unity candle, he will play and sing The Wedding Song, There is love..It will beautiful and I can't wait!
