I am planning my wedding for October 2004, and am getting to the stage of interviewing photographers. This is a subject I know nothing about. Any advice on prices or wedding photog. in general would be great. Thankd.

I am using David Humphreys. He is located in South Jersey, but will come to Philly at no extra charge. A lot of people recommended him and he is the most affordable photographer I have found so far.

Can you pass along the contact for David Humphries? I'm struggling to find what I think are "reasonably priced" photographers in the Philly area. Thanks.

Ask to see examples of his or her work. Ask for references, and check them out! Have an interview with the photographer in which you discuss the specifics of what you want, and get a quote in writing. Bargain for package deals. And trust your instincts!...I though mine was a little creepy at first, but he had excellent samples and glowing reference letters on hand to show us, and a good price. The first thing he said to me on my wedding day, within earshot of both his wife and my 13-year-old sister, was to ask me very explicitly what kind of underwear I had on!
The day went downhill from there. I later found out he had a severe drug problem, and could only be thankful that he wasn't visibly stoned at my wedding. If you don't feel good about working with someone....WALK AWAY! Good luck finding someone. |
