Hello, I am new here and am looking for some creative ideas for favors. My wedding is in June on the ocean. I would love any ideas!
Thanks |

I think I've seen candies in the shape of seashells.
Definately soaps come in that shape. Sand coated candles are a neat choice as well. For centerpieces you can get some silver pails from the garden shop and fill them with sand and shells and tie ribbons on the handle in nauticle colors. How about live goldfish in a bowl for a centerpiece? Send them home with the families with kids? |

How about donating money to a charity on behalf of your guests? Do people ever really eat the jordan almonds??? I know I don't

Seashells! Wrap them loose or buy a kit, make your own votive canels and include the seashells in the wax mix. : )

The best thing I've heard of is instead of favors, donate to a charity. Time and/or money. Have the DJ or MC announce it at your wedding, you will always have a round of applause for that, whoever clapped for a candy dish?

Hey!
Yankee makes custom labels for their candles with a message for your guests. You could use an Ocean Water or Seaside Holiday scent. Ask any local Yankee Candle dealer about their custom lable votives or try www.yankeecandles.com Smiles, Amanda |

I am getting married in Hawaii in July and I am gettinng my invitations from www.mypersonalartist.com. The invitations are going to be in the form of a scroll and will be delivered in a corked bottle to the guests. They are called "Message in the Bottle" invitations. Also, you can get little Hawaiian tshirt picture frames to use as the place holders at the reception tables.

I saw on a wedding website the idea of putting Jordan almonds in the sea shell, covering it with tulle, and tying the top part of with a ribbon that matches the theme or colors of your wedding. I have also seen little sand buckets, with a votive in them. I just depends on the price and things you are willing to spend.

Hey! I went to the beach and colleected pretty sea shells and took them home and washed them.. then put a couple of coats of clear nail polish on them (or laquir). After they dried, I used a perm marker and wrote names on them. A couple more coats of polish then some mini stars on them. They were awesome! And the guest LOVED them! I get asked to make them for people still and that was 2 years ago.. hehe They are PRETTY, CHEAP, FAST & EASY!!! Just put your names on them and the date. You can also put something in them and wrap them up and it's like a double gift. What-ever you decide to do, I'm sure they will be great! Good Luck!!! Julie

I am getting married outdoors in Minnesota August of 2005. We will be giving out tree seedlings of all different kinds/varieties. We are only paying about $0.55 per seedling. Since we will have 250+ guests it will be cheaper than most other things. Not only does it tie into our "Garden/Outdoor" Theme but the guests can bring them home and watch them grow. What could be better? I'm going to put small tags on each tree with information on the specific tree and a little note for our guests.
I feel that this is so much better than bubbles and other favors that people give out b/c they will not be tossed in the garbage afterwards, they will actually be used for years. You could also use potted plants. Contact your states Forestry Association to see if they have seedlings available. Any questions? kelcie-stumbo@excite.com |
