Default ship time

I work at a bridal store and I want to make everyone aware that it can take up to five months for a wedding dress to arrive after it is ordered so please allow yourselves enough time. you then usually allow 1-2 months for alterations.

I too work at a bridal shop and it does not take 5 months to receive a gown. So lets tell the truth here!
Bridal designers ship gowns in apoprox. 12 weeks!! - with a few shipping gowns in 14 weeks. Thats about three months or so. And now there are designers that now ship their gowns in ONE WEEK!! SO brides do not be scared by this posting, it's just a way to scare the brides into a sale!!
As far as alterations, it should not take months. Alterations should not take any loner than three weeks and all alterations should be done two weeks prior to the wedding date!!

Default Shipping Wedding Gowns

I guess I was lucky. I ordered my dress in October and by the middle of November it was in. I was also lucky with the bridesmaid dresses. I order those the day I picked up the wedding dress and they were in on December 4th, but I am definitely glad to have ordered it when I did.

I think that it really depends on what store or bridal designer that you go through. I am going to have my dress ordered in January of this next year and they told me that it would take approximately 4 or 5 months for the dress to be made and then a few tries for fittings. The lady at the bridal shop also makes a nice bag for the dress once it arrives so that will also add a little time. I am making sure that I have enough time to get the dress made, get it shipped, and get the fittings. I am thinking that one reason it will take a long time is because of all of the sequin work that is on the dress. All of the sequins will be hand sewn which will take quite a bit of time because they have the main part of the dress, the train, the shawl, and the bolero jacket that goes with the dress. I know it seems like a lot but it is a beautiful dress and it comes with all of that. Of course I don't work for any bridal shop but I really trust the gal that is at the one I am ordering the dress from. A word of advice is to make sure that you talk with the bridal shop that your ordering from in order to have enough time to get the dress of your dreams.
