If you're looking for a classical piece, here are a few suggestions:
- Air on the G String, by J.S. Bach (this sounds awesome if done by a string orchestra) - Beethoven's 9th Symphony (also known as the Ode to Joy) - Greensleeves - Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring, by J.S. Bach (though this may be better known as a Christmas piece) - If you like the cello, there's a really good cello solo from ***ille Saint-Saens' Carnival of Animals, called The Swan - There's also a piece called Trumpet Voluntary, by Jeremiah Clarke. While this sounds best on a trumpet (I think, anyways), it can be played by any instrument (I've played it on the violin) - If you don't go with Ave Maria or Pachelbel's Canon as the processional, you could always use one of them for the recessional ... I have no idea what we're using for music yet, but we have to talk to my brother, since he'll be playing the music for us on the trumpet or the piano ... and the music lists that people have posted are a great help! Thanks! esp1087 ... a bagpiper would be awesome! |

We'll walk out after our guests, so this is not a big issue for me

My ceremony musician recommended Rondeau by Mouret. I think she said it's from Masterpiece Theater. Anyway, I heard it and thought it sounded very unbeat and regal at the same time. I wouldn't know where you could hear a sample though. Ask your ceremony musician for ideas. Mine had plenty of books of music to choose from.

I've been thinking of using a song to honor my grandfather - he loved big band music - I'm sure I could come up with something from there even if it is just the instrumentals from it ![]()

We have chosen Arioso as one of the songs when guests are being seated. Rigaudon as our processional music Pachelbel Canon as our recessional Ode to Joy as one of the songs when we usher out our guests

Ok ladies, I am new to this, but the wedding is just around the corner and I need some advise. I agree with wanting an upbeat walk-out music, but I am not musically inclined at all. My fiance took another job 909 miles away right after proposing, so I have been left with all the wedding decisions. Quite frankly, I think I have reached my limit. But I think I am getting closer. We are having a Colorado Mountain Wedding. It is going to be close friends and family and a semi-formal affair. I was going to do the traditional wedding march in, but do you think the "accidentally in love" song from Shrek 2 would be too off-the-wall to walk out with? He (my fiance) is a big goof ball and my niece and nephew (flower girl and ring bearer) love the Shrek movies.
