Thumbs down here comes the bride...ugh:(

I do NOT want to march down the aisle withthe traditional "here comes the bride" tune. Something about it just ...erks me. I have seen several movies where they didnt use that but 2 other songs have been used...I dont know the names of them. Anyone know the other tunes that have been used?

Mindy

You can use any song you want to for your walk down the isle, I am using Cannon in D (this could be one you are thinking about because it has become a pretty popular song for the procecisional).

I am with you on this..I don't want to use "Here Comes the Bride". nmb is probably right in you are thinking about Canon in D. I think I will be using something completely different, but I am not sure.

My church made me aware that the "here comes the bride" song is frowned upon by our Diocese because of the opera it comes from. Something about it being about adultery or something sinful like that. Anyway, I will be using "Canon in D" as it sounds so regal and vibrant. You should talk to your ceremony musician for other options. I think it sounds great on the piano but you might prefer it on an organ instead. Like every other aspect of wedding planning, the options are endless!!!

Default I totally agree!

Wow. I'm not the only one??!! I am 2 weeks away from my wedding...and still looking for a song to walk down the aisle to. I've been told by everyone that the song is totally at the bride's discression. I have chosen "Canon in D" for my bridesmaids. I actually heard about a bride that used "The Great Adventure" by Steven Curtis Chapman...I applaude her! Does anyone have any ideas? I would much rather have a love song than a fanfare type song.

Um.. I actually don't like Pachaebel's Cannon to me it's as common as the wedding march from Handel's Messiah (the traditional wedding march). We are using Antonio Vivaldi's Flute concherto. I love classical music so I had a hard time deciding. Make sure it has a fast enough beat, but not to fast. You want to make the moment last.

I am using Pachaebel's Canon for either my Bridesmaids or I. I love that song, that is my cell phone ring too! I also bought a cd with wedding ceremony music on it so the other one I will just pick from the cd. Who would have thought this would have been so hard to decide on!
