I agree... weddings don't have to be white or traditional! if you want to wear burgundy then wear burgundy. My wedding dress isn't a wedding dress at all; I'm getting married on the beaches of Maui and I'm wearing a Hawaiian dress and my husband to be is wearing a shirt that matches my dress. My dress is a cute little sun dress that is blue with white & yellow flowers on it (not one bit traditional) and i'm going bare foot. The way I look at it is... it's my wedding and I'm going to wear what I want and if someone doesn't like it; well tough luck for them. Enjoy yourself, get what you want... it's your day!

Thank you both, and we answered two questions.. this one, and one with the park. We ment no harm, just offering suggestions, and experience both pos. and neg. for the couples that want to save some money.

sorry if you thought it was, mearly an offer to help her if she needed it. As for offering the vow links, there are very few sources that have "ren style verbage" that are done in a "Basic Fair Accents" for Ministers. But we do thank you for pointing it out to us so no harm done.

Renaissance doesn't mean you need to have the billowy sleeves and swords. You could still pull in a renaissance theme with your reception and the decorations at your wedding site. A theme isn't soley brought in with a dress or anyone outfits. Maybe you could have the girls wear flower wreaths with ribbons in their hair ( a very traditional renaissance thing) and carry wildflowers instead of traditional roses. Your recepetion could represent a "feast"...choose place settings that look more medieval. Are you getting the jacket thing to go with your dress? If so, that can bring in renaissance elements as well. Adapt the theme of renaissance, bring in some elements of it. You DONT have to have everything be so stereotypically fit into the theme...take ideas and adapt them to fit what you want...I think you can still make it work if that's what you want!

[quote=kitty131521]My Fiance and I are planning our wedding for Augest 26th 2007, the date that we started going out, the first time.. its a long story.. but anyways, i dont know what to do for a theme, i found a dress i love, but can only find one company that sells it, and it says its a Maggie Storetto, but cant find it on their site... i wanted a midieval theme origionaly but i dont think it will match up with the dress, and i have to find bridesmaid dresses to match as well.... its going to be an outside wedding, and we are trying to find a place to have it so it can be by a lake, at sunset.... we live in Michigan so the waters not hard to find.. but i dont know about what else to do....
