My Fiance and I are planning our wedding for Augest 26th 2007, the date that we started going out, the first time.. its a long story.. but anyways, i dont know what to do for a theme, i found a dress i love, but can only find one company that sells it, and it says its a Maggie Storetto, but cant find it on their site... i wanted a midieval theme origionaly but i dont think it will match up with the dress, and i have to find bridesmaid dresses to match as well.... its going to be an outside wedding, and we are trying to find a place to have it so it can be by a lake, at sunset.... we live in Michigan so the waters not hard to find.. but i dont know about what else to do....
Here is THE dress..... http://www.drahoshcreations.com/wedd...e/brianne.html and the dresses i liked for bridesmaids but i dont think they match well enough http://www.drahoshcreations.com/brid...83M/1383m.html and i dont think they actually fit my theme ideas, but im open to any theme, as long as its not butterflys, or cinderella, and its something unique.... i didnt even want a white dress, but promised his mother id wear one... |

First of all, I think the dresses match well. The bunched fabric in the back of the bridesmaid dresses is a nice complement to the designs in your dress. Plus, I think the bridesmaid dresses should be different from the brides. I wouldn't want their dresses to be a copy of mine.
In fact, my bridesmaid dresses are completely different from mine. I am fine with that. I say that as long as you like the dresses, go for it. I sure people are not going to be thinking about if they match. Also, for theme ideas.. Since you want to get married by the water and your dress reminds me of a little of a mermaid style dress... How about an "Under the Sea" theme or more realistically in Michigan "Under the Lake"? Even though your dress may not fit the medieval theme, you could still do it. You could have a medieval style veil or other details. He could have a medieval style outfit, etc. I live in Michigan, and we had my senior prom at Gino's Surf in St. Clair Shores. It was GORGEOUS!!! They have an all glass wall up against the lake with a wooden pier that you can step out onto to look at the lake. Very pretty! I remember the food being good also. Hope that helps. Elizabeth |

I think the dresses would look great together! As for a theme, you don't necessarily have to have a "theme" persay. You could just use milder decorations and have a beautiful wedding/reception ![]() |

I love the dresses and maybe under the sea would be alright, i dont know, im trying to avoid being common, the original dress i had picked out was burgandy.... but the mother-in-law to be didnt think that would be very appropriate

Well, she won't be the one wearing it - try them both on and take the one YOU like best. You don't have to wear white - there's no law stating you have to ![]() |

Just remember, the more you compromise what you want, the less & less your wedding will be a reflection of your style & tastes.
But, I LOVE The dresses!! They will compliment one another very well!! ![]()

Exactly - my sister in law wore a royal blue velvet dress that was just gorgeous! my sister made it for her. It was just beautiful Weddings don't have to be white! They are what you want them to be If your FMIL doesn't like the dress then its probably a good thing she's not the one that's going to be wearing it! ![]() |

Greetings and well met m'lady. First congratulations on they upcoming nuptuals. As one who does Ren Period weddings myself I wanted to make you feel comfortable with your choices in dresses.
If you haven't yet selected a minister yet, I may be able to assist you depending on the date and time. And would love to help you with the vows as well even if I'm not the one doing the wedding itself. If you wish to speak to me about this please feel free to leave me a message on yahoo's msgr and we'll gladly get back to you - I'm generally home after 6 pm should you need our help. If you wish to take a look at some sample vows we've used in the past feel free to do so at this address: This is the long version (takes about 40 mins) I also have a more condenced standard wedding version also below this one. Long Version - Ren Wedding standard version Looking forward to helping you and your betrothed soon. Last edited by Rev_Hansen : 03-09-2005 at 08:51 PM. Reason: incorrect info |

Here we go with a bunch of advertising again. Please, do not post on every single board because it gets really annoying to read advertisement after advertisement that is the exact same thing.
