For my wedding party I wanted the girls to choose what they wanted, I just pick the colour. Someone had pointed out to me that all the dresses have to be the same length because they look odd if they are not. Is this true or can they be all different lengths..above the knee/below...does it matter?

i agree the length should be the same or at least close. ive read some posts about different size bridesmaids and i spose the style can be a bit different to suit, but if they are all the same length and colour then it will look right.

The two main elements when selecting the bridesmaid dresses are that they are the same length and usually the same color. However, I have seen some weddings where the bridesmaid wore different color dresses that went along with the colors of the wedding. I personally would have all of the dresses the same color.
In addition, the length of the brides dress should determine the length of the bridesmaid dresses. Therefore, if the bride is wearing a long dress then the bridesmaids should wear long dresses. If the bride has opted for a shorter length dress than the bridesmaids should also have a shorter length dress. Most of the bridesmaid dresses should all be the same length. However, each bridesmaid will normally have similar type dresses even though the style might be different. This of course is to match the bridesmaid figure. It is sometimes hard to come up with a bridesmaid dress that will fit all of the figures of your bridesmaids when they are all different sizes. |
