my FH's idea of the perfect place for the wedding is on the beach-I am in total agreement, but we need some unique ideas please! This will be the second time around for us both, so we don't see the need to repeat the big church wedding we each had the first time around

barefoot is cute...you could do like casual summer clothing(if its a summer wedding of course) i know someone who got married last fall, they had an outside wedding and wore jeans and flannel shirts. or you could do something hawaiian on the beach. also, sailor apparel or something along those lines. i dont really know your tastes, but i hope these ideas help. congratulations on your upcoming wedding.

I am also doing a beach wedding. My wedding will be on the beach in Florida next May. I decided on an ivory dress and my fiance will be wearing a white linen suit, with a white tie possibly. The groomsmen will be wearing white linen shirts with khaki pants, and my girls will be wearing pretty yellow strapless tea-length dresses. Everyone will be barefoot as well. As for more ideas, we're going to have a white arch and adorn it with flowers and ivy. The "isle" will be lined with big conch shells and you could even have your flower girl, if you choose to have one, throw colored sand or sea glass instead of the usual roses. For the reception, im thinking of maybe doing a glass bowl filled with water, with fish/shell votive candles and/or fish bowls with a variety of colored live fish in them. So those are just some ideas. More and more brides are doing beach weddings, so in most Bridal magazines it can tell you ideas for beach weddings. Hope i was a help! |

I'm not sure if you wanted a barefoot on the beach wedding theme or if I just mistook the title of your post...but if in fact you do ask everyone to come barefoot and leave their mark! As favors you could pass out "footprints in the sand" tied with mini rope and a small seashell (just an idea to play on)...You could definitely make it unique if the both of you say your own vows and relate your love for one another compared to the ocean. Line your isle with very large sea shells and tropical flowers...put mini seashells (starfish or sand dollars) on the bottom of your toasting glasses...you could serve guest on plates in the shape of shells...light up your dance area with those torches...serve seafood for reception...put framed shell pictures of you both in a hammock, on the sand, and running on the beach for your tables (meaning all pictures showing love life and comfort) Your guest will enjoy looking @ these! add with hurricane lamps! Send message in a bottle invites and don't mail have them delivered by designated person! You could marry under a small gazebo....Just a few ideas, I could go on and on! Hope this helps...

Brandi's ideas are GREAT! I work at a resort on the beach in Florida, so I have seen lots of beautiful weddings. One thing you shoud keep in mind is the possibilty of wind. You don't want to spend your whole ceremony trying to control your hair and dress. Same goes for your decorations. One of our recent couples gave seashell shaped chocolate truffles for the favors. They also had shells on the tables as part of the center peice.
