Question Theme Dilema

Goodmorning Ladies,
I hope you all are doing well! So I have a question, it might be a dumb one but who cares! My b/f and I just got engaged this weekend so I guess that makes him my fiancee now ...anyways...he's in the military and he thinks he may be deployed in September, we would like to get married before he goes, but when we started talking about getting married a while ago we agreed to get married in October, b/c it's always been my dream to have a fall themed wedding complete with a barn, pumpkins and candy apples...and for our reception we would have a BBQ! But now if he's going to be deployed in September in order for us to be able to have a wedding and go on a honeymooon we would need to get married in August, so my question is, can I still do my fall theme in late summer or would that be tacky???? Thanks for any advice ladies!!!

Always,
Colleen <><

Congrats on getting engaged. Planning a wedding is the best. But I think that if you've always dreamed of having fall themed wedding then that's what you should have. All of you guests would be aware that your future husband is being deployed and plans needed to be moved up for that purpose. Pumpkins generally aren't in season then, but that doesn't make it impossible. Where are you from, and where will the wedding be?

I am from Kansas but live in Maryland now, he's from Texas and stationed in New Mexico, so I am not sure were we will have the wedding, logically Kansas would be a good midway point for everyone but my whole wedding party and the pastor I want to marry me along with all my close friends are here on the east coast so that creates another problem within itself right now....

Thanks for the reply !

Colleen

Default Theme Dilema

Fall colors for an August wedding would not be tacky. Just a little unexpected. Most of your guests will know that you originally planned a Fall wedding, and might be happy for you that you are able to still have the wedding of your dreams even if it is a couple of months early.

A BBQ reception in a barn sounds great for a Summer wedding. You could adjust your colors to match the season, but I would say to go with your heart. If you want to stay with the Fall colors now is the perfect time to buy your decorations while they are on sale at Michaels and other craft stores.
