outdoor wedding reception

My boyfriend and I would love to have an outdoor wedding reception but are having a hard time finding a place. We only have a party of around 75 people and this seems to be the best thing for us since most of the big banquet halls have a 100-200 guest min requirement. Anyone have any ideas on an outdoor wedding or did anyone ever attend a wedding at a park?

I have attended 2 weddings that had outdoor receptions. Both were cases where there wasn't a lot of money available and both were very nice.

In the first case, 2 sisters announced their engagement within months of each other. The 2 grooms were friends since childhood. The girls parents didn't have a lot of money so they had a double wedding. The ceremony was held in a church late in the morning, and the luncheon reception was held at a local park. Keeping with a picnic lunch theme, lunch was deli platters and salads. There were 2 cakes one for each couple. The tables and benches were covered in white paper and the picnic area was decorated with streamers and wedding bells.

The seconed outdoor wedding took place at the beach. The ceremony took place on the beach just before sun set and the reception was held in the the state park picnic area behind the beach. It was a beach/Hawaiian theme, so dinner was a Hawaiian buffet. Hula dancers provided entertainment.

Check you local parks. Some city parks have designated or private areas for group functions. Does your community have a wedding garden? Do any of the hotels have a garden area where they can hold a reception for a small group? Does your community have any historical residences, buildings, or museums that make their gardens available for such uses?

My cousin had he wedding at a golf course... check in your local area to see if they allow that the other plus side is that you will have beautifule pics. the course that she used had a stream running through the golf course.
