Lightbulb silk and fresh flowers

I am trying to save some money while planning my wedding and I know that fresh flowers can cost a fortune. Do you think it will look tacky if I were to have my bridesmaids, flower girl, and the men have silk flowers, but mine and my fiance's be fresh? I really want to have a fresh bouquet for myself but I was thinking to save some money I could make silk bouquets for my bridesmaids and those could be their gifts as well. What do you think? Any ideas?

** Have you thought about having them walk with one single stem fabulous flower?? ** you could buy a dozen and hand them out, sometimes just one makes a statement....I'm not against silk flowers: some can be just as beautiful as the real thing... I just sensed concern and wanted to give you an option in case you haven't thought about this idea.

that is a great option for me to consider. Thanks for the idea. Now do you have any suggestion on the type of 'fabulous' flower they can carry??? My color is blue and silver.... I was hoping they can carry white flowers seeing as I would be carrying a blue bouquet. I'm not really good with flowers, so any suggestion helps... thanks again

I have always been a big fan of lilies, or those hydrangeas < look like a mini bouquet and have a very big bang for the buck! ... My state flower is a magnolia, and girl let me tell you I adore this one and it's aroma is wonderful... If nessary 1 long stem rose would suffice! These all come in white!!! Hope I helped! Oh, to pack a punch tie them with ribbon, the colors of your choice ... would look very lovely in any color mentioned above.

I am doing the same thing.. my bouquet and fiance's bout will be fresh and everyone else's flowers will be silk. I think that if you get your silks from someplace good that it could work out really well.

Calla lillies are Gorgeous as a single flower statement, and available in white. They're supposed to be available year round, and there are also miniature calla lillies to use for boutieneres (sp?)

Oh cool at least I wasn't the only one to think of it. I was thinking of getting callas and making them for about everyone. I can't think of what I want though. Thanks everyone for the advice.
