Default BridesMaid Dress Problem

One of my bride's maids, Amy, my littlest sister. Had back surgery the summer of 2003. Leaving her with a scar from her neck all the way down her back. She is very self conscious about it.

All of my bridesmaids are young and we are all pretty trendy. Anyone have any ideas of how I can stay trendy and cool but help her feel less self conscious by finding a dress that will help.

I want all the dress to be the same.. is this even an option?

There are plenty of dresses that go up fairly far in the back, especially the styles like tanks or sleeveless turtlenecks. There are also plenty of ways you could make the BMs have a unified look without having exactly the same style. David's Bridal, for example, has several hundred styles to choose from--you could make them all the same color and if you want, choose similar styles.

Default BridesMaid Dress Problem

Well for the most part this is your day, and you should have the bridesmaid dresses you want - however, there are times in life when it is best to put others before us. Consider picking a dress that your sister will feel comfortable in. Remember, trendy doesn't neccessarily mean half naked.

This reminds me of back in the 80s when an attractive young model in NYC was attacked by her stalker. She received some very serious cuts to her face. After the ordeal she was on a talk show, and made a very profound statement "We all have scars, some are just more visible than others." Eventually your sister will become more comfortable with her scar and realize it's just a part of who she is and what she's experienced in life. Until then, it's best to give her all the time she needs.
