ivory dress, ivory shirt?

My dress is ivory, should my fiance wear an ivory shirt or is white ok, we think white would look better on him, but maybe together we would look better if we were both in shades of ivory?

As of right now, we are having white shirts with my ivory dress. We are afraid that the shirts will be to dark or too yellow toned. The bridesmaid's dresses are lavander and the guys are going to wear silver or gray vests and ties. I think that it will look ok because we are also having butter yellow roses for butioneers and they could cause a yellow toned cream shirt to look bad. But before we make a final decison, I think I will have them hold up the diffent shirts near the dress. However, I already made a white ring bear's pillow, so I think the decison is made. I am putting the Ivory into the decorations using flowers and ribbons. I think it'll look ok. I don't know if this helps any. When in doubt ask your bridal shop to show you what you want to know. After all, they do it everyday for a living.

I am getting married in May 05 on the beach and i also have an ivory dress. I really want my fiance to wear an all white linen suit with maybe a yellow or white tie. (Yellow maybe to match my girls). All of the groomsmen will be wearing khaki colored pants and white linen shirts. I've seen it in a magazine and it looks great. I think with an ivory dress and then your man wearing ivory, it might be too much. White will give it more of a contrast.
