Default Original Song as Bridal March

Hi Everybody,

I'm new here and need your input.

I was married last year and one of the best gifts I received was from a close friend of my fiancee, who has a PhD in Music Composition. As our wedding present, he wrote an original wedding processional for me. (I was one of those brides who did not want to walk to "Here comes the Bride.") Not only was the song length perfectly timed to the length of the aisle, he asked my fiancee and I to each pick out one song that had special meaning for us, and he included a little bit from each in our processional to personalize it even more. It was played at our ceremony by a string quartet. He's done this for many close friends, and instrumentation ranged from a harp to four french horns. Everyone who received one (and most wedding guests) were thrilled.

I've finally convinced him that this is a viable business idea and that we should allow other brides to have the priviledge of commissioning their own wedding march. (We're three weeks into planning this now).

But now I'm worried that maybe people wouldn't want this. Also, I'm wondering what we should charge for the service.

Please reply if you think this is an interesting service that brides like yourself would want and at what price?

OR if you're sure you (and no one like you) could ever want it at any price, let me know also!

Thanks in advance,

Deb

I think an original wedding march is a great idea. And I think that brides would pay for such a thing. How much I am not sure, but it sounds like a great idea. IF you are from the Pittsburgh area, you really should contact Mara's Events & More, she might be able to help you. Her ad is in the coordinating section of this website

Hi Lilly,

While we aren't from Pittsburgh, the business has no geographic limitations. Consultations are done over the phone and then the finished product is mailed out for approval. I'll definitely get in contact with Mara. Can anyone tell me the top wedding planners for their city?

Deborah

P.S.: The website almost finished. I'll attach a link when it's done. Thanks for your encouragement!

Well I would say that Mara is the top in Pittsburgh and surrounding areas, as for other areas i would not know about that.

Exclamation I am A Very Interested Bride

Your idea is wonderful! I was looking for ideas when I found this post through a Google search. I only have 3 weeks before my wedding. Is that long or do you have any other ideas? My wedding is August 21, 2004. Please contact me right away if there is something you can provide... warshaw_jk@hotmail.com would be the best way to reach me as I hope I can find this site again.

Thanks,
Jenny
