I need some advise please.
Our wedding color is lavander, but I want to have yellow roses. I love yellow roses. However, I don't want yellow decorations. Our bridesmaids dresses will be lavander and mine is ivory. We have bridemaids and junior bridesmaids. I was thinking of having cream, yellow, and lavander roses in my boquet, then lavander carnations and cream roses in the bridesmaids boquets, and then yellow carnations with cream roses in the juniors boquets. Is that too much? Some people are advising me that with the lavander dresses we shouldn't have lavander flowers. they think I should stick to the cream and yellow roses. We will tie the yellow in with other flower arrangments and with some ribbon on favors. Help... I know that in the end the florist will tell me what works, but I want what I want. ![]() |

Three colors are fine. Most weddings I've seen have at least three...two main ones, and a metallic-y "accent tone." It's completely up to you...if you wanted to have a rainbow themed wedding and use any color you could possibly think of, then I'd say do it....it's your choice! Take into account the florist's advice (he/she is a professional), but ignore everyone else...and make your own decision in the end. Good luck!

Your color scheme sounds very pretty. Like Sarah said, you could do a rainbow themed. My wedding isn't oing to be rainbowed, but very bright colors. I'm think 3-5. I'm sure it'll look pretty. Who knows, it might not, and a little on down the road, I might not like it and change my plans... Good luck! And Congrats on the wedding!

I don't think it's too much. It sounds similar to my wedding colors 2 years ago. I'm doing some research for my sister's wedding and ***e across your question. My mom is a florist and I had 1 dozen each of lavender, yellow and white (ivory) roses in my boquet- IT WAS GEORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!! My bridesmaids had various "garden type" flowers in theirs and their dresses were lavender. I would steer clear of carns (carnations) they're cheap but look cheap. Consider using lavender stock, daisies and a few lav. and/or yellow roses. Also you could have one lily in their boquets surrounded by those other flowers. If you need any other ideas let me know- my email is themillers4317@juno.com

ok.. so now that my dress will be white, and the bridesmaids are still lavender, I was wondering about a colorful versus pastel boquets. I found a picture of a boquet that has purple, lav, dusty rose, burgandy, pale yellow, and mint/beige (Whatever that color is). Would that be too many different colors especially if there is no rose, burg, or mint anywhere else? I just want lav/purple decorations with a touch of yellow. If I have this boquet, do I need to bring in the other colors?

You can have those colors in your flowers only, I think if your flower decor is the same all around, it will look very beautifully.. the colors of the bouquet you described will accent your bridesmaids very nicely. I wouldn't think you'd have to include those colors of the flowers in other things, as long as you keep the basic general concept in each flower decor, I think all will be well and look fabulous.

I think the colors that you have chosen are going to be pretty. Yes, your bridemaids can have lavendar with their dresses. Flowers of different color not in the wedding scheme of colors will be fine as long as all of the bridemaids bouquets look the same. The extra colors will accent their dresses better.
