My close friend has recently gotten engaged. This will be her second wedding.

She wants to plan an inexpensive wedding in July 2003 in Las Vegas.

Her fiance's close friend has had a long engagement and will be getting married in Oct 2003 in Las Vegas. Her fiance is also going to be in their wedding party.

Is it wrong for my friend to have her wedding in Las Vegas before her fiance's close friend?

I don't see how that matters, unless they share a lot of the same guests, and the travel expense would be a burden on those guests.

I don't think anyone should care who gets married "first".

I agree, it shouldn't matter at all... Yes the Wedding is "YOUR DAY" but it's been insane to see how often brides start claiming their month, season or year even... If travel costs are a concern that would affect things, but the Bride doesn't have the right to bar all others from marrying in the same year, or place. Vegas (and Nevada in general) is known as the Wedding Capital of the World... so it's logical that it will occur to more than just her to wed there. :)
