I think that's what it's called. When you're walking down the aisle? My brain is fried! Anyway. I know some people aren't going with instrumentals and that's what I'm thinking of doing. How long is the average song for that? I'm worried about having too much extra time....

While we're on the topic of ceremony music, if sometime during the ceremony, be it seating or whatever, if you heard a song in a different language would it be weird? I really like this song, and if I used it I would include a translation in the program, but I don't want guests to be weirded out.....

Live musicians is the way to go for processional music (organ, piano, harp, string quartet, etc.). They will come to your rehearsal and time how long it takes for you, your bridesmaids, etc. to walk down the aisle and adjust the song accordingly so there isn't any extra time. Experienced musicians can do this without you realizing they ended in the middle of a song.

As far as foreign languages...knock yourself out. It's beautiful. But if you're getting married in a church, check with the church first. You may have to provide a translation.

I'm using Nat King Cole's Unforgettable to walk down the aisle to. I'm using a cd, so I'll have to edit the song and trim it down a bit. It'd be way too long otherwise. But I've played and sang at a lot of weddings, and your musicians will time it and end the song at a good time so you don't have to just stand up there forever and wait for them to finish.

Ours is a song by EVANESENCE called MY IMMORTAL...we have had it as one of "our" songs for a while...and it just sums up our feelings for each other.

My processional is "This Years Love" by David Gray, it has lyrics and I think will fit better in our outdoor ceremony than a traditional/classical piece. Im just wondering if its ok to have the same song used for both the bridesmaids entrance as well as my own???? Help anyone????

I am using Canon in D for the groom & moms, "Forever And For Always" by SHania Twain for the BMs, and Here Comes the Bride for Me of course.
