How can you ask guests not to wear black or white to the wedding? I cannot find any information on etiquette's books. Can we address it on the invitation? What can we do? I'll appreciate any comments. Thank You!

It is improper to address not wearing black or white on the invitation. However, you can have a friend or your mother or your fiance's mother spread the word. Another option is to put a separate note in the envelope with the invitation (any place that sells invitations will sell these) stating how you would like the guests to be dressed. Remember: include a seperate note in the envelope with the invitation, but just don't put it on the actual invitation. If you do that I think everyone should be fine with it.

Hope that helped

Why do you want to control your guests wardrobe?
