So in the summer I thought I had found THE dress. I tried it on and EVERYTHING about it was perfect. It's $1500 and I put a $500 deposit on it in August and they told me that it would be ready by February 6 (5 days from now). Over the months I found out that the same dress is posted on E-Bay for less than $500. That doesn't bother so much.

This is the dress I bought:

Here's the crisis: I was watching Days of Our Lives this past fall and I fell in love with the top part design of Chloe's wedding dress and I went on a mission to find it. I knew right then that this is DEFINITELY the gown for me. I got my very first wedding magazine and there it was, an Alvina Valenta wedding gown. I found out that I am able to buy it 5 hours from where I live but it has to be ordered and I cannot try it on. An even bigger crisis is that it's $4700.

This is the dress I WANT:

Does anyone here know if the Alvina Valenta AV7559 style can be found on another website for cheaper or if there's a place that makes Alvina Valenta inspired dresses? I've been frantically searching on E-bay for it and no luck.

What about a trunk show? All designers have trunk shows. Look on their website and see if one will be near you soon. They usually give you a discount if you go to a trunk show and order a dress. Some designers even have samples for sale at trunk shows. Just a thought. :)

I love the dress that you have bought. It is so beautiful. Put the $4700 toward you honeymoon or something else. PLEASE KEEP THE DRESS THAT YOU HAVE!

I so agree!!!! The dresses are so similar that it doesn't seem worth it to me to spend that much on a dress. You will look lovely in the dress you already picked out!

P.S. Your dress would cost more than what's left on my car payment!
