 I’m getting married in September and before I got engaged (Christmas eve) I chopped off all my hair, like short. I know my hair will grow back some, but It’ll still be way short by the time the date comes around. I really need some short hair style ideas and ideas of veils that would look good or even hold in my hair. All I've found for veils are all bunchy and heavey. Should I even have a veil???

Exactly how short is it? There is a girl on here with really short hair and she has pictures in her journal of different ways she is wearing her hair and she also has a veil she will be wearing. Here's a link to her journal, she has a lot of pictures that may help you out.http://forums.weddingsolutions.com/showthread.php?t=3824

You only need to post this once, please do not post it every where.
I am making my own only because I didn't want to pay full price for one and I didn't find any that I liked. I wanted a simple, 1 teir veil that wasn't very full. I used this website to help.

I didn't use the full width that they suggested to make mine not so full.

Sorry about the double posting, i just joined yesterday, and i wasn't sure that i posted my question in the correct area. So i posted it again and added this : I already have a tiara, it was a gift, and I was hoping for a veil that attached to the tiara, really light, thin and satin edged.

Have you checked ebay? Alot of ladies on here got their's from ebay. I'm not attaching my viel to my tiara because I want to remove my veil for the reception.

I used to work in a bridal shop and one of the most common questions I got was "can I wear a veil with short hair" The answer: absolutely
Unless you shaved it (which I'm thinking you didn't lol!) You can place 4 bobby pins in your hair about where you would like the veil to sit: so they look like this:
---------/ \-----------
---------\ /-----------
Does that make sense? Then you just slide the comb of the veil into the hair so that it slides in just over the bobby pins and then underneath them. The pins will anchor the veil.
Does the tiara have side combs or just a single comb behind the front?

I have checked ebay- thank you for the suggestion
Also my tiara doesn't have a comb anywhere. I understand the bobby pin idea, but i'm just worried that is i remove the veil at the reception , my hair will have kinks in it. Do you know of anywhere that i could buy a veil, without a comb?

I don't know about finding a veil without on but I'm not going to do one on mine that I'm making. Only because it was hard to remove my veil with the tiara in place. I'm just going to sew some loops of clear fishing line at the top and secure it with bobbypins.
Viels aren't that heavy, depending on how many layers you have.
Also, some of the places on ebay actually make the veil when you order it so you could always ask them to make it without the comb.

Also my hair is very thin and strait, i'm worried the veil would be to heavy for the bobby pins if i wore them, I've allways had problems with clips, and other hair accessories sliding out of my hair

What about adding your own veil to the tiara? Here's a link to the Michael's site that'll show you how to do it.

I wear extensions on the regular and its not that expensive it just depends on the type that you want body wave, curls or staright. Or if you want synthetic or human. Just depends can be anywhere from 10 dollars a pack up to and well over a hundred. Hope this helps. Its cheaper to buy your own hair then it is to get hair from the shop you go to.
