Buying online?

Hi ladies, my name is Lynn....I've only posted a couple of times, mostly just lurked, I'm getting married in September and have started looking for dresses. I am wondering if any ladies have purchased their actual wedding dress online, particularly this web site: http://barbsbridal.bridalsnet.com/showitems.asp

they have some very pretty dresses at great prices, but i'm a little leary to be ordering a gown online.... any thoughts?

I've never bought anything through a bridal website, but I've bought on ebay. Just be sure to research the company... check them out with the BBB and Ripoffreport.com (I love that site!)

That website was posted here a while back and it looks pretty good. As with anything you buy online, you may have problems so it's up to you on weither you buy or not. One bad thing is that if you haven't tried that dress on or one similar, you may not like it on you when you get it. A dress that I loved on David's Bridal website wasn't what I thought it would be when I tried it on. Her prices are very good though. I know that the white and silver dress on the front page is my dress. It's a knock off of a Maggie dress, so was the one I bought in the store (a knock off). Just wanted to give you that information because you maybe able to find a dress you like on there at an actual store. I would take pictures of the dresses you like to a local bridal store and try them on if you can find them before you buy one online.

I don't know about buying dresses but for veils I would check out veilsbylana its an ebay store... I got mine from their and I love it!

Hi hun, I bought my dress online through ebay-God bless ebay. From a company call Cinderella's bridal shop whick is in Canada but they make the dress made to feasure if like in shanghi and is cost me around £190 inc p&p and the dress is more than perfect,just as good as the maggie sattora dress which is simular and is £1000+. I took a gamble and its paid off. Good look hun. xx:)

By all means, go for it. I just found out that my $1500 Mori Lee dress was selling on E-Bay for $175 brand new. I wish that I had waited a little bit longer or checked this forum more often.

If you're uncertain about it, here's what you can do and believe me when I say that the picture always looks better than it may look on you. Go to bridal shops and try on gowns and find a style that you feel looks best on you. I had my eyes on this one dress, tried it on and it looked terrible. I used to see another one but didn't care much for it until my friend made me wear it and it really be***e me. Now I'm certain of the style so when I see it I know it will look nice. Fortunately for me, I already found it.

I haven't bought clothing online so can't help you there, but I can say if it's a wedding dress IMO I'd rather try it on then 'hope' it fits and have to do some major altering. Now, what you could do is try similar style dresses on and then use that dress size to order one?? Not sure how that would do tho. :)

I didn't buy my dress online but I did buy all my accessories on ebay...(i.e., tiara, veil, shoes)...
