Okay, so as those of you who have read my journal know my wedding colors are blue and white. I really want to have a cake that is different but elegant. I want a blue cake with white accent icing, but I can't find one I really like. These are the only two I have found that I sort of like, and the second one didn't look that way in the original picture I monkeyed around with it in photoshop.

(This would be only one layer of the cake, try to picture it with more on top)
What do you guys think?

Thanks, I actually haven't seen many of those pictures before. I like the one with the really tall tiers. In the end I guess I might have to really communicate to my baker what I want and come up with something somewhat original.

I don't know what kind of dress you have, but if it has designs or a lacy pattern, you could have your baker copy that. Or if you have a pretty veil to match it, that would probably work too. Also, if you find any doilies that you like, then they can copy the design from that.

If you have a good idea of what you want but can't find a picture, I'm sure you could just explain it to the baker and they could make it. Or you could look for pictures of regular cakes and just tell the baker that you want one like this but in blue. Do you have a baker yet? Maybe you could get some ideas by looking through their portfolio.

That is a good idea. My dress does have a pattern embroidered on it. I like the idea of finding doilies too. Or, maybe I'll go to the fabric store and look at lace. Hmm... thanks for the ideas.

This is actually a candle but you could accent w/ white. I think the actual pearls would look amazing.

Can I just make one suggestion? Make sure you try their blue frosting first. I remember a friend's bday cake was blue and it turned everyone's teeth blue. I know that they didn't make the cake, they bought it from a store. I don't know if professional bakers know a trick around this but you would hate to go around with blue teeth the rest of the night!
Bye the way,I think that it will look really pretty if you choose any of these cakes.

this is my cake but where the cream color is she is making it light purple and the roses are going to be dark purple. You could do the same thing find the cake you like and see if they can change the color

Any cake can be any color or design. You can mix and match
different cakes to make the one for you. As for the blue icing,
light blue should'nt change your mouth (much) but darker colors
usually do. Blue has a red base which makes it die what it touches.
