ok i know i was looking at maggies for SO long.. but i was so frustrated with the fact that i cant try them on anywhere here... so i kept looking and looking at dresses and i saw on the jasmine website that any dress can be altered however you want....

my biggest problem is that i dont want a strapless dress and all the dresses i like are strapless or near that! so then i saw these dresses and i REALLY like them... and they can be altered to have a higher back and straps of some sort.. im not sure what yet i just want something i would be comfortable in...

let me know what you think

I tired on a few Jasmine dresses when I was looking too. There was one that I fell in love with, but thought that it was too casual for my wedding in the end....so I moved on <sigh>.

I like all the dresses that you posted except for the 1st one. I think if you're looking to add straps though, I would go with the last one. The ones with the sash might look a little strange when they are not in the strapless version....or maybe it's because I just can't picture it.

...and #2 is my favorite by the way, followed by #3 and then #1. Although I still stick to my decision that I think #3 would look the best out of them all if you want to add straps. :p

#3, it would also look the best with the straps. I'm not a fan of the first one at all.

Trust me - I feel your pain. I found my dress a few months ago and was doing the "happy dance", just because the stress alone with killing me. My dress that I bought has a sash that goes around the waist and has ribbons that continue all the way down the back of the dress. There's an obi in the back of the dress with a brooch underneath. I'm glad that my designer does alterations because I'm having the obi removed. Part of the reason why I fell in love with my dress was because of the sash. So keeping the sash, brooch, and ribbons. Long story short, that's what I love about dress #2....just not with straps.....but then again I'm picky

one of the stores i contacted has the first one but not the second one... im waiting to hear about the third one though...

i like the first one just cos its unique and has the lace but not just the lace.. i was looking for lace cos i look the best in lace... they will have it in march so i could go try it on then... unless somone else is getting it sooner. well see i guess...

theyre pretty expensive though but nick really wants me to have a dress i love and keeps telling me not to pay attention to the price..

I really like those, but I like the 2nd better. My dress is all lace, so if you like lace you should check it out. It also has great detail in it, too. It's beaded with pearls and little crystals. You can't really tell in the pic, but the pic is in my journal. It's an Anjolique, and i absolutely fell in love with it the first time i saw it. If you go to Anjolique.com, i think its # 403. It obviously looks better on the model than it does on me!!! I wanted mine to be strapless, but the lady at the bridal shop said it comes with removable straps. Keep in mind, too, if you look at the pic in my journal that i am 5'4" so we are about the same height.

Lace looks best on me as well. Good luck!!! :)

I think you'd look great in any of them. I'm the same height as you and I weigh about 110 (no clue how much you weigh). I'm only saying this because I tried on the last two that you posted. I'm not sure exactly what my measurements are, but somewhere in the small 32D cup range on top, waist is about 25-26 inches and my hips are about 35 I think. Not to toot my own horn, but I thought I looked pretty darn good in the dresses....and like I've mentioned in a previous post, I think we have about the same body build.

Have you tried any of these one yet? When I went shopping, what I thought I wanted from researching online and in magazines, once I started to put those dresses on, I changed my mind of what I wanted. Nothing compares to actually trying on the dresses and getting to see what it looks like on you.

I like #3. Have you tried any of them on yet? Once you have it on you might change your mind about having straps. I hear that it is common to change the style once you start trying on dresses.

i tried on halter and its just terrible on me LOL.. i dont want strapless just because i feel inapropriate with it and both my parents and nicks parents sort of frown upon it... i like the sweetheart neckline and i am small on top and that sort of makes u look a lil bigger :)

If you go with Jasmine, they will more than likely change the neckline as a freebie. When I was asking about certain things that I wanted modified on the Jasmine I was looking at, the book that the salon was looking at said that they did it for free. I was trying to change a straight neckline to a sweetheart neckline.

i got a price quote from an online store

the first is 1360

the second is 1176

the third is 1520

much better pricing!!!

do u think if i get the dress online i could have it altered to not be strapless? i contacted jasmine and even though they say u can customize the dress it still costs money..

How hard can it be to add straps? That's really strange that they said that you would have to pay for the alternation. The salon that I went to said that they wouldn't charge for a different neckline...unless the salon was doing me a favor...hmmmm....my MOH did take me to a place that they know her.
