ok i reallly need some advice about this wedding dress thing... from what it looks i wont be able to try any of the dresses i like on.. cos they dont have them in florida (im still looking)... so what i might have to do is have a store order a dress and have to pay something for that - which will be deducted from the overall price of the gown... so im debating between these...

if the dress is strapless i am going to have straps added to it as well as make the back out of sheer material like in number 5... but i cant decide on the overall dress..
any adive will be appreciated!
how far should i order the dress? Our wedding will be dec 28th 2006 (i hope, we havent found a place yet)
please please help... the dresses are similar but slightly different..

I like the 2nd and 6th. You should check with the store you purchase from. The woman I talked to this weekend said to orde abt 5-6 months for Maggie's. Sounds like you guys are in the same boat as we are. Our wedding is May/June 2007 and we have no place yet. (well we have a couple places in mind).

I'm trying to remember, but I think I have seen a picture of you. You had pictures posted of you in your lab coat in class for a brochure didn't you? I'm just trying to get an idea of your body shape.
I think you're shaped somewhat like me, so part of my answers are based on what I think will look good on you :D
I like #3 because of the overall look of the dress. I like that it's off the shoulder and has the dramatic back. I also like the fact that it's a bit more fitted and slinky, so it has a sexier...yet romantic look to it.
I like #4 because I love the dramatic v-shape on the back of the dress. I would love this dress even more if you could get the buttons on the back to continue all the way down the back of the dress (I don't know if you can do this with Maggie dresses).
I'm not really a fan of 2, 5, or 6. I think the last two would cover you up too much and it's your wedding...you're supposed to shine that day. You want to wear the dress - not have the dress wear you :p I don't care for number 2 because I don't care for the bottom-hald of the dress. I LOVE the top of the dress though, just not from the skirt down.
As far as how far in advance to order your dress...I think it's usually about 4 to 6 months to get your wedding dress in on average.

I like number 1 and number 6. Both are pretty and if you are going to add straps/sleeves anyway, why not go with one that already has them. Both of those are very pretty. My favorite is the 1st one.

I think you whould base your decision on what styles you preffer ON you. Do they have similar styles in the store that you want to order it from? Can you try those on and see what you like? Do you have any pictures of you in dresses? Then we could all see what styles look good on you, too!
They are all gorgeous dresses and I don't think you can go wrong with any of them, really truely.

I like number 6. That is so beautiful. Plus, if you got that one, it would already have the straps/sleeves, and since it laces up in the back, you wouldn't have to worry as much about alterations since the laces can be adjusted. It could save you more money in the long run. I vote for 6!

yeah youre right i did post pics for the brochure... whcih were recently published too LOL :) im short- 5'3 and petite but a little athletic looking too (even thogh im a lazy bum..) i will have my hair down too and curly.. im looking for something lace- cos i look best in lace. thanks for replying :)

i didnt see anything at the store exept a lacy halter but i cant do halters so i decided i love the lace look. i like d 3 to begin with because its unique btu i really want to try it on and i dont know where i can!

i havent been able to try any of them on! its so frustrating but i just cant find a different one i like thgat isnt like 5K!

what i did was i actually emailed Maggie's contact people and asked them where in FL i can try on the dresses i liked.. and they arent found here :( those stores dont have the full collections...
but im stating to look at jasmine bridal ones now LOL

Well you HAVE to try on those dresses. That's why I never dared order one because I was afraid I wouldn't like it and be stuck with it. The only Maggie trunk show that is coming up is this one:

I would order the dress at minimum of 4 to 3 months ahead of time
LOL but i already have mine I got it about 6months before the wedding
be careful with the added material on the back it could just break the dress and you may look more beautiful without the extra material
I personally like 2 and 4
but they are all great dresses

chicka.. have you come to Orlando? and in GA there is a bridal mart.. it would be worth the 6 hr drive to go try on a ton of dresses.... and in jacksonville.. there is a show. come on up baby.. i can help ya if you need.. let me know!

at first i wanted a sheath gown and now im leaning more towards a more classical wedding gown.. nick has me convinced lol i wish i could like upload a picture to the site and they can show me what i would look like in it LOL

I really like number 3. I love the capped sleeves and that the neckline isn't too much of a sweetheart neckline, but just enough to be pretty without being too cutesy. I also ordered a Maggie Sottero dress. I believe I ordered it in August, and it got here (San Diego) very quickly - I think it got to the store by October or November.

Well you HAVE to try on those dresses. That's why I never dared order one because I was afraid I wouldn't like it and be stuck with it. The only Maggie trunk show that is coming up is this one:
