I can't decide if I want a cake plateau or not? Are you going wiht a cake plateau? What made you decide to do so?

I guess you could say I'm using a platau - My FH wants a really tall cake but we are only having like 70 people so I'm only getting three layers of cake so I just decided to make a wooden box and drape it with fabric and then set the cake on that. That way the cake is taller and I dont have to pay for and extra layer.

That was a good idea.
I like how the plateaus look but I don't want my cake to be too tall because I am only 5'2".

Well that makes sense, I guess it just depends on how tall you want your cake to be. I mean if you don't care that its short I guess you really don't need one. Maybe you could find one that is only like an inch high or something.

Most of the cakes I do go on some kind of plate or stand or box.
my general rule is the topper should be at an
average womans height, 5'4, 5'6 ish. So, if the table is about 32"
high then the cake might be about 15" (3tier stacked) and the
topper 5"-6" thats about 52" = 5' so a couple inch box or plate
should look nice. The pillars come in 2", 5" and 7", if its three tiers
than that adds 4"-14" to the cake.
Hope this helped, Tina
