I am having my wedding on December 18, the weekend before christmas. Anyone have any cute, inexpensive ideas for my christmas themed wedding? I am having red bridesmaids dresses and the groomsmen will be in hunter green vests but that's about all I have so far.

Congratulations, your wedding is on my birthday and two weeks after my wedding. So I have tons of great ideas as my planning is almost done. The arrangements we are putting on the tables are going to be made of white roses with snowflakes, red roses with red christmas balls, and white carnations sprayed with silver sequence along with pinecones that are also sprayed with silver. You need to shop now and try and see if any places have any christmas things left we found a lot of stuff at least 50% off. If you want more ideas i have tons send me an email at mcinturffl@unk.edu
I would love to give you more suggestions

Cheap winter flowers - huge bunches of babys breath are really pretty, and go well with a winter theme. You could fill a cheap plastic urn (I got some at Big Lots) with baby's breath, maybe with some ivy trailing down. You could use these next to entrance-ways. Lot's of greenery is inexpensive and actually looks really classy when done well - ivy, pine, holly - many of these you can scavenge from family gardens.

Let me start by congradulations and saying that WINTER WEDDINGS ROCK!!! :^D hehe I like you and Faith am having A December wedding. Mine is Dec. 15, 2005.. so, I still have plenty of time! Yet can't wait. :^P My honey and I have all the plans in rough draft mode right now and know pretty much what we want already.

Our colors are white, silver, lt. blue (frosty) & lt. lav. For the center pieces I am doing different arrangements of candles in our colors on mirrors with silver glitter surrounding them and maybe fake snow on the edges. We are also filling clear glass bowls with water, those clear rocks (in our colors) and floating candles (hopefully snowflakes!). There are trees at our site too and I am weaving white twinkle lights through the branches. For the table cards I am choosing a few famous christmas singers ( senatra, crosby, etc.) along with their most famous song. Different and unique (instead of table 1..2). I have TONS of other ideas also and if you still need help, I would LOVE to! E-mail me at Princessjewlz19@aol.com

Congrats and Good Luck,
~*Julie*~

Congrats! I am also getting married on December 18th. My colors are Berry, Gold, and Silver. We are having a christmas tree instead of a gift table for people to put gifts under, and instead of traditional center pieces we are having individual cakes on the tables. The cakes are going to look like individual and stacked christmas packages. I can't wait I think it will be beautiful.

VELVET. Have the bridesmaids dresses in red velvet (and not bright fire-engine red, but cranberry) and the groomsmen's vests ditto hunter green velvet. It looks so rich at Christmas.

You'll save a lot on church decorations if that's where you are getting married, as most churches are adorned with poinsettias that time of year.

For centerpieces you could have crystal bowls heaped with gold ornaments with a ****r candle sticking out of them.

I wanted to do a Christmas wedding in the worst way with my husband but due to his family all being from northern Minnesota and North dakota, we figured they wouldn;t be able to get soen to Nebraska that time of year so we opted for a fall October wedding instead...

You WILL save a lot on church decorations, but you might get gouged on everything else. Beware! Many florists, caterers, reception places, etc. are so busy this time of year with Christmas parties that you might not get the undivided attention and individual service you deserve. Make sure they can deliver what you've agreed upon and GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING!! Good luck to everyone who's planning a wedding at this stressful time of year...you ladies have way more guts than I ever will! :)

WOW! A Christmas Wedding, how cool!!!
From what I read from everyone, they have some awesome ideas! At least you have one thing to your advantage is that if you book your reception at some hall or church at least you can use their tree and or christmas lights. Most places will be decorated for the Christmas season anyway, so take advantage of that.
I do like the idea od Red Velvet for the bridesmaids and instead of flowers for them, use white fur muffs. Just and idea. Good luck and Congratualtions.
Also, check out the website - www.askginka.com. I found everything I needed for my July wedding.

If you are giving out favors a neat idea for centerpieces would be to have the small christmas trees (about 1' in height) in white and sprayed with silver or gold glitter as centerpieces at the reception and wrap the favors in red paper and put them under the trees on each table. You could even add more decorations to the little trees like tinsel.

I'm planning a winter wedding too (though after christmas, and not planning on the red and green theme), and while my moh and I were brainstorming ideas, she suggested that we buy lots of cheap ball ornaments in our wedding colors and leave one on every plate (along with some markers at the tables) so that guests could sign that instead of a guest book. Then, when they had signed them, they could either put them in a container in the middle of the table to double as a centerpiece, or hang them on a potted evergreen. I like this idea if only because it will be a guest book I will actually enjoy, and not leave on a shelf somewhere gathering dust all year.

Thats a good idea! But remember if you have 200 guests, do you want 200 ornaments with peoples names on them? Perhaps buying enough of the large sized ball ornaments for each table and having one per a table.

You could still do the regular baubles as centerpieces, and mixing in the little tiny ones would add to it I think!

My wedding is in the summer, but it seems like you winter people get some great ideas going!

i am getting married on dec. 17th 2005 and am also going to use candles on a mirrored plate for centerpieces. as far as inexpensive favors go, why not make cds for your guests filled not only with songs from your reception but also Christmas songs

I am having my wedding on Dec. 10. With no help on wedding expenses, it is going to be quite a squeeze, also I don't have any ideas on what to do... as far as I have got is Christmas Red Dresses for the bridesmaids. I need inexpensive but nice ideas, any help would be appreciated.
