After searching for more months than I can count, I am still can't find a dress like I want. I know more about what I don't want than what I love.

I want to wear an all red or mostly red gown. It can have some black or white on it, but red should be the main color.

We are having a very short & simple ceremony in the same hall as the reception so I want a very informal gown with no train or a small sweep train. I also am not a fan of the large ballgown type skirts.

I'm not a size 2 so I need the structure of a wedding gown in the mid section that bridesmaid's gowns just don't offer.

So best dresses I have seen have come from England/UK but I really don't want to buy something I can't try on first.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Have you been in the same situation? Have you stumbled across any red dresses in your searches?

Hmmm...I'm not sure what you mean by "the structure of a wedding gown in the mid section that bridesmaid's gowns just don't offer" but here're some red dresses I've encountered in my searches...

http://www.sophisticatedlady.us/ ----> red dress 6 rows down...style # 303 for $158

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000CS8548/sr=1-20/qid=1136699608/ref=sr_1_20/002-4638817-2157603?%5Fencoding=UTF8&v=glance ---> $89.99 PacificPlex Lace and Satin gown

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000E1WAQW/sr=1-59/qid=1136699818/ref=sr_1_59/002-4638817-2157603?%5Fencoding=UTF8&v=glance ----> $119.99 Mermaid Satin halter...it's actually a red version of my bridal gown :D VERY lovely! Has beads and prong-set rhinestones on the bodice and halter strap, as well as along the hem and trailing down the back of the gown. It has a small sweep train.

Hope these help you! :)

What I meant was that the dresses with just light fabric over the stomach area show unsightly buldges and you cannot hide a corset under them since they will show the ribbing.

Formal wedding gowns have up to 8 layers of fabric over the bust & stomach and won't show the corsetry.

Thanks for all your help! I actually stumbled across the one form Mary's Bridal today and love it!

Here are some that i thought were awsome, somewhere along the lines of what you were looking for. They are beautiful and very inexpensive. There are a few more dresses on the site. Let me know if you buy any of them. I would like to see pictures of the wedding when it comes around.
