I just HAVE to ask you all this because it seems like its super stressful for some and really easy for others...

How many dresses did you try on?

How many times did you go to try on the dresses?

How many times did you change your mind on the perfect dress

How many of you knew what you wanted ahead of time?

*I tryed on 5 dresses
* First time trying on wedding dresses was 12/31/05 for me
*The last dress I tryed on I knew it was the one, I've had it on my mind for a couple of months now and just fell in love with it and bought it that day

anyways, maybe it should be a poll but i'm just wondering so please do tell!!!

I went to three different stores. The first time was DB. I found a couple of dresses there that I liked. Cannot tell you how many I tried on, just kept trying what she brought me. I went to a local bridal salon and tried on about 10-15 dresses. I found 4 that I liked, one that I really loved. I went to another bridal salon out of my city and tried on less than 10 dresses. Wasn't too impressed with the people there. I went back to the 2nd store to show sister and FMIL the dresses that I liked there so they could compare to the dresses I liked at DB since they went with me to DB. I ended up getting my dress from that 2nd store. I am a firm believer that you should try on as many as you feel comfortable with until you find the dress you fall in love with. I probably tried on a total of 50 dresses! But how many times do you get to try on all those beautiful dresses?

I'll add that the dress that I really wanted was the dress that I got but I was going to change my mind because of the price. But then the shop let me buy the sample dress so it changed the price to the price of the dress that I was thinking about getting.

How many dresses did you try on? I tried on four

How many times did you go to try on the dresses? Just once

How many times did you change your mind on the perfect dress? The first dress that I wanted to order, I was waiting for it to come in to try on, and the company went out of business. So the first time I actually tried on dresses, I found exactly what I wanted the first one. I tried on three more just for giggles, but I knew immediately.

How many of you knew what you wanted ahead of time? The dress I wanted and the dress I got are completely different. I originally wanted a mermaid fitting dress that was ivory silk with a pretty lace pattern over it. When I actually went shopping I found a princess dress.

Ok...
Went to 2 different stores
Did a ton of online research for dresses prior
Tried on about 35 dresses
Once I knew it was the one, I stuck with it!
I had a dress style picked out before I went to go try on and I ended up with something completely different.

I went dress shopping twice and tried on 8 dresses altogether.

I found one I really liked the first time, but I fell in love with the one I ended up buying on the second trip. Of course, I had a few doubts, but know it was the best one.

I looked online at different dresses, but I couldn't really tell. Some I liked were horrible on me and vice versa. I knew what kind of style I wanted though.

How many dresses did you try on?
39 dresses...it started out fun, but I was frustrated and weary by the end, convinced I would never find the right dress.

How many times did you go to try on the dresses?
3 times. I just made those visits really count!

How many times did you change your mind on the perfect dress?
5 times...and Tony and my family won't let me hear the end of it. I am infamous for being indecisive, especially went it comes to things to do with the wedding (except for the groom of course!)

How many of you knew what you wanted ahead of time?
I did...and I was talked into to trying on dresses that were outside of what I thought I wanted. Ever since high school, I remember wanting a formfitting, straight gown, possibly a mermaid style. But everyone told me to try the a-line and more princessy dresses. I hated them, and as soon as I tried on my mermaid, form fitting gown I was hooked! It's what I had pictured back in high school!

I tried on probably 35 dresses total. I went to about 6 different places to try on. I had one I loved the first day and thought it was the one...and quite honestly it probably would have been but the dress had been discontinued and the sample was too small to be taken out to fit me and still look right. Oh well...then I thought I had found one at DB, but then I found my dream dress by accident. I had never seen one like it before and it was the first one I picked up at that store.

How many dresses did you try on? About 10

How many times did you go to try on the dresses? Once

How many times did you change your mind on the perfect dress? I knew it when I put it on. I tried it on 3 more times in between other dresses and knew that it was the one.

How many of you knew what you wanted ahead of time? I have about 100 different dresses marked off in magazines that I liked. I wasn't going to find my "dream dress" in a magazine and then go through hell searching for a store that sells it. I knew the type that I wanted and when I went shopping, I just picked a bunch I liked.

My dad said that I wasn't from his family because i made my decision about my dress right away instead of pondering it out :D

I just knew I needed to find the dress fast and I had the right dress in my mind and was ready to buy it...

did any of you try on the black and white dresses...from DB? I tryed on two of them...they looked okay on me but i must say someone with darker skin would look lovely in them...i'm just to much of a white girl :) hehe

My dress is white and silver which helps to take aways from the pure white dress against my white skin. I had one sales lady that told me I would look better in something other than white but there was only one dress that I liked that wasn't white.

How many dresses did you try on? 20

How many times did you go to try on the dresses? 2

How many times did you change your mind on the perfect dress?: once

How many of you knew what you wanted ahead of time? I knew what I wanted and I pretty much got it except for that every designer's dresses fit differently, so try on as many diff. designers as oppossed to a variation of a dress by the same person. My dress was a Vera Wang and I tried on La Sposa, Eve of Milady, and Monique Luhlierre.....they all fit different even though the styles were the same.

FYI: don't try on too many dresses in one day....you'll be confused....or have someone take a digital ***era with you to compare later. I was lucky I feel in love witht he first dress I tried on but still tried on others to make sure.

I went to 2 different places and tried on about 30 dresses. The first store I went to was David's Bridal, they had a bunch of dresses that I liked and I had the one I wanted all picked out but I still wanted to go to another bridal shop just to see what they had. Of course I made sure they carried Maggies and When I tried the first one on I knew I didn't need to go back to David's. My dress was the second Maggie I tried on, the first one was just like Kikki's but I thought it was a little too formal for my wedding so I went with mine and I just knew it was the one. I tried on a few more dresses after I picked mine but I kept making the lady at the salon lace me back up in mine. I think I put it on like 3 different times :D

How many dresses did you try on? One and a half (see story below)

How many times did you go to try on the dresses? Once

How many times did you change your mind on the perfect dress None but I had second thoughts after I bought it.... which I think is natural.

How many of you knew what you wanted ahead of time? I had a picture from online and I went to DB and tried on that one, and one other that I found that I sorta liked but I barely had that one over my thighs and I knew it wasn't "the dress", so I ended up with the first one I tried on; the one I had a picture of.

Well I went once just for fun at a little bridal store near my house, but I didn't like anything. I probably tried on 5 dresses? I didn't think I was going to fall in love w/ anything there tho. So that was the 1st trip.

Then, I found my dress online, saw that they had it at a store that was relatively close to me, went there on Monday, Jan. 2nd, tried it on, loved it, bought it!

So I got my dress on trip 2, and it was probably the 6th dress I tried on (including the 1st trip). I tried one more on after my dress, just to see how i looked in actual white (which was horriable) so I ordered ivory (which was the color I tried on).

I never once changed my mind that that was the dress.

And, I did sort of know what I wanted my dress to look like ahead of time. I really like the look of satin and i know it is really popular, but I knew it wasn't for me. I wanted something that looked almost vintage so thats why I went for all lace, but it's strapless and beaded with crystals and pearls so its sort of modernized.

Really, I had a very stress-free dress buying experience! It was so much fun!!
