Petticoat versus Hoops

Hi all,

Does anyone know which is better underwear for a princessy ball gown - Petticoat or Hoop underwear? I have a dilemma here. The gown is the Maggie Vincenza which is actually comes as A-line gown. I was looking on ebay and it seems to be full of "hoops"....hmmm
- Also, does anyone know where to get them for less?

Well...you should just try them both on, all styles and sizes with your dress to see what works best with the dress. With maggies, and an A-line, I can see it with a petticoat, not a hoop, but again you have to try them both. I have a maggie A-line and it look ridiculous with the hoop. Go into the bridal store and try them on...then you can either buy it there...$80 or so, or get it off e-bay.

I would also recommend a petticoat with an a-line. I had a ballgown, and opted for a 3-hoop. My biggest concern with the hoopskirt is seeing the hoops through the gown. Since my gown was poufy with lots of layers, you didn't see the hoops. With an a-line, you would probably be able to see the hoops.

Now, I wasn't going to spend 100 bucks on a full crinoline from the bridal shop anyway. I got my hoopskirt from Angelsbridal on e-bay for 20 bucks...
