Does anyone know if there is a significant difference between these two whites, or even if there is a difference at all? I'm looking for a shawl in case it's chilly, but everything is either white or ivory. I don't know if the difference between the two would look funny...

Diamond white is a little "softer that regular white". It's kind of hard to explain but it's not off white or ivory its still white but not a bright. My dress is diamond white and from what the lady at the shop told me those of us that or on the pale side wont look as pale in the diamond white as in the regular white. I hope this helps a little. If your dress is diamond white I would try to get a diamond white shawl or it might make your dress look dingy.

I read this too, but when I went to get the material for my dress I asked for diamond white and the guy laughed at me. He said diamond white is jsut something that the bridal shops made up...that there really isn't a difference at all. Its either white or its not. Do you have a fabric swatch from your dress? Maybe you could take it with you when you look at shawls just to make sure.

Thanks girls. I was wondering if it was just a gimmick. I do have my dress right now. I was looking at shawls on ebay, I don't think I'll take the chance though, I'll just bring a swatch with me and go to the store :)

Diamond White refers to Silk - it's a creamy white as silk is a natural fiber versus satin which is usually man made.
