View Full Version : Support under sheath???

Is there such a thing as a low-back strapless bra that provides decent support?? I need one but cannot find one. I have a sheath--which means I also need something seamless to avoid show-thru.

I tried a NuBra but it didn't support. I was going to order a seamless longline bra but at the last minute I discovered it was too high in the back. Sewn-in cups won't work for my dress either, according to my seamstress.

I"m a borderline C/D cup, so if I don't find a bra soon I'm going to have to use duct ****!!! :o What are you doing, what do you recommend, or what do most brides wear under such gowns?

Oh yeah, those stick-on bras don't really work if you're a D. Actually... you need to be like a AA! LOL! Hmmmm.... does your dress have straps? I've seen bras like these that have clear straps.

They are made by Fashion Forms I think.

I should have included it, but here is a model picture. It is Dere Kiang #1402. It has straps but they are so thin they won't hide anything. I would be concerned that even the clear straps would be visible and look weird.

Victoria Secret has a bra like above that is strapless. My best friend wore it for her wedding and she's a C or D. But I think she wore the clear straps cause she has a lace overlay on the top part of her dress. I would maybe go there and try it on and see if you like it or not.

Wow! That IS a low back. Yeah, I see that clear straps probably wouldn't work. Hmm....

I wore a corset type bra for my junior prom. It had a full front (covers your bo obs and tummy) but the back didn't hook until clear at the bottom.

You could get the stick ons. I have never worn them, but I remember a few girls at a wedding I went to saying they worked okay.

Okay... what about this one? It's a strapless bra with a clear back. It comes in **** too. (It's made by Fashion Forms)

Otherwise, I'm sorry to say, you'll probably be stuck with some kind of stick-on bra. I know they don't give much support, but I've just never seen a bustier that goes that low. And I worked in lingerie for 5 years... so I think I know (at least mostly know) what I'm talking about.
Here are some other stick-on bras I've found. Perhaps one of them will work better than the Nu-Bra.

Isn't there one a Victoria's Secret that is strapless that dips pretty low? Hmm, I'm trying to remember. I know in drill team we often had costumes that were backless or very low back and the bigger chested girls wore these bras that dipped way low. I never was big enough to need one so I can't remeber where exactley they got them from.

I hadn't thought about something like that. **** would be ideal, I think. I wonder how noticeable the clear strap would be. Does anybody have an idea?

How much does it cost? if you were going with something like that I would definitley try it on with the dress way ahead of time first to see if it does work...

But it is expensive and might not work, you might just want to pass on it

I think it costs about $40. If its purchased at a store though, she can always return it. Right?

Thanks for the idea about the clear-backed strapless bra!!!!!! I went ahead and ordered one and think it will work. My dress still hasn't come in so I can't say for certain, but I don't think you'll be able to see the clear strap much at all! :)
