Are you guys keeping your gown on for the entire wedding? I'm considering changing like the last 30 min. just because I don't want to drive to the hotel in a wedding gown. I'm just curious to see if anybody else is doing it.

We aren't only because our hotel room is where our reception is. I've heard of people changing into a "going away" outfit. There's nothing wrong with that. Most of the time, they go change when the receptions over and then leave (think of "Father of the Bride").

I didn't change...but I didn't want to take my dress off!!! I loved being in my dress and I didn't want it to end!

We're not changing. Heck... I'm paying all that money for a beautiful dress I'll only wear one other time....might as well make the best of my money, eh? LOL

I'm not going to change either. Our wedding and reception are in the same place so our big going away photos will be after the reception and I want to be in my dress for that!

Hehehe... we just need to go into the next room after the reception is over. ;) So I'll be wearing my dress until then. I hope noone is jumping on the bed during our reception though...

I actually had 2 different wedding dresses. My ceremony was very formal with a train, but then I changed into my reception dress, which was a fun tea length tulle gown. That is what I wore in the limo for 2 hours to the hotel.
I really liked ariving at the hotel in my wedding dress :) You get a lot of "awww!"s...
...however I also did get a "did you guys have prom tonight?" from some dumb ***** teenage kid. However, I didnt let it get to me, since I was so happy about my wedding!
...jerk...

Yeah, that's what I was thinking about. Changing into a little tea length dress or something. My FH said I should just keep my wedding gown on but my mom say's , why not change. So I don't know what I'm going to do.
My dress is a sheath, so it's not full at all but if I can find a cute dress that's not too expensive, I'll change but if I can't and I'll have to pay hundreds for a little "cocktail" dress then I won't.

im only changing because i absolutely have to, fh is too. we are leaving the reception and going right to the airport hotel. so i have no choice. i really wanted to stay in my gown as long as possible and arrive at the hotel in it, but because we are leaving directly for our honeymoon i cant leave my gown in the hotel. so i will be changing into a white jogging suit with just married or bride written on it. but i wont be changing until the end of the reception when its over and almost everyone is gone

I think it's fine to change at the end of the reception. I've seen it done before...although the bride changed at the very end and basically the dancing, etc. was done when she did it.

I was originally thinking of having two wedding dresses. One more conservative formal dress and another party dress (Moulin Rouge style). I think I am going to stick with one in the middle so I can wear it the whole time. I don't know if we will be leaving anywhere right after, but I want to stay in it as long as I can!

I think I am going to change before we leave. Tony is going to change so that his mom can take care of returning his tux the next day and I think I want to change so that my family can take my dress home and get it cleaned. We are leaving the reception and heading straight for the hotel at the airport and we will be flying out for the Dominican at 6 a.m. the next morning. We won't have any time to take care of our wedding attire! So I am planning on buying a cute dress or skirt to change into and leave the reception.
