Ok I thought it would be a great idea to have a thread that everyone with a fall theme idea and colors could come in to share tips and suggestions.
Here are my ideas:
Site:
We are getting married in FH hometown a small town which is surrounded by corn fields, so I thought a fall theme would be cozy. The hall is surrounded by a landscape of tall, fresh corn stalks.
Food:
Turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls & tea.
Colors:
Texas Longhorn Colors - Burnt Orange, Ivory and Brown as a accent color
Table Favors:
Carmel Apples - I found this really great place that will only charge 2.50 per apple.
Fish Bowls - With orange and brown stones on the bottom with either a floating candle or (still up in the air) a goldfish swimming around. After the reception the kids can take the fish home as a pet.
Please Come In and Share any ideas or suggestions

Everything sounds lovely. On the tables depending on if you are using round or long tables, you could either put leaves around the centerpieces or down the middle of the table. I always wanted a fall theme wedding.
Your flower girl could also drop fake leaves instead of petals.

Our wedding date is still pre-fall season but the theme would coordinate so well with the reception sites surroundings. We are getting married on Aug 26th. I love the leaf idea, I need to visit Michael's and see what kinda fall items them have. What theme are you having for your wedding?

We are doing double hearts. Using a lot of silver too. I fell in love with my invitations that had the double hearts at top and are in silver so that's what I decided to go with. I have posted a lot of the stuff that I have in my wedding journal if you want to look at them (Can't Hardly Wait). If you had hit up Michael's right after Halloween they had a lot of stuff on sale then. Look on ebay. I know I saw fake leaves for really cheap on there.
You are getting married two days after my birthday! That was one of the dates I think that we were looking at but I didn't want it too close to my birthday so we went earlier in August.
Your theme sounds lovely with all the surroundings and stuff.

I love the double heart invitations, are you printing your own invitations? I'll have to check out your journal and scope your neat ideas. I did see some fall leaves on ebay they even have these cute floating candles in the shape of leaves.
We are actually getting married on my FH birthday, that way he'll never forget our anniversary.

Hey I just wanted to share what ideas I did have for my wedding. I am getting married in November so it will be right at the end of Autumn. I live in Florida so it's kinda nice here.
For the ceremony we are getting married in the botanical gardens. I wanted to embrace the outdoors!
Our colors: Burnt orange and Espresso
Our Save the Dates: Fall themed magnets (we made them ourselves-see journal)
Our invites (Inspiration-we are making our own)

I saw this really nice potpourri @ Wal-Mart last night. It's scent is called Pumpkin Spice it has a whole bunch of different fall shades deep red, burnt oranges and browns. I was thinking it would be a cool idea to place the potpourri at the bottom of a medium to large hurricane vase along with a several cinnamon sticks and place a candle on top of them. I think this would look really nice as a table centerpiece, plus the heat will fuse the scent of the fall potpourri . Just a thought....

FH and I were just in Wal Mart looking for the dresses to put on the Will you be my cards (see journal) and I saw that same potpouri. That's too funny. Oh and about those invites...yeah I love them. Hopefully mine will turn out okay. Pretty much the things that I have tackled have turned out okay. I will post pics when I do a sample.

Laurie- I'll keep posting ideas... I'm thinking of starting a journal myself-mainly consisting of photos not so much text.
Lyndsay- I'll be keeping an eye out for your updates..
Ok 1st of all Rebekah I LOVE YOUR CARDS!!!! You are so creative.
Isn't the potpourri the cutest thing ever did you notice it had small/tiny pumpkins in the package. I'm so considering using the hurricane vase idea, I'll need to run over to the store w/ FH family so I can get the discounted price on the vases. FH's uncle works for a glass company.. I can't wait..
Trust me your invites will turn out fine your VERY talented. You have to post pics.

I am also doing a fall themed wedding. My centerpieces are going to be the fall potpourri and i'm putting the battery operated christams lights in. My mom makes things like that for christmas time and sells them, so I thought it would be a cute idea since she already has most of the stuff I need.
