I won't be doing a grooms cake. We're going to spend too much as it is on a wedding cake, and neither one of us thinks we should do a grooms cake.

We aren't doing a groom's cake either... We decided a wedding cake would be enough for us. :)

I will be having a grooms cake. I am making both cakes, and for the groom's cake I am making a ***ouflage colored tank with little army men (FH was in the army for 10 years). He wanted an armadillo cake first, so we compromised.

Very cute lol Well that's awesome that you are making both cakes... I never heard of grooms cakes before...I thought I might be the only one not doing it ...but I guess there are others like me lol maybe I will make him a cake or something l don't know... his all time favorite thing to eat is Reeses...so maybe I will buy him a **** load of them and that will be his grooms cake lol

I really wanted to surprise Gene with a groom's cake with the Pontiac symbol on it for his car. But the design of our wedding cake was going to give us way more cake than we needed, so I opted to pass on the groom's cake.

I am making Nick's grooms cake. I told him I waned to make a cake for him that looked like a poker chip and he thought it would be a great idea. The cool thing is that they come in so many different colors I can fit it in with the color scheme of the wedding. :p

I'm getting FH a cheesecake ice cream cake from Cold Stone. He wanted and ice cream cake for the wedding but I told him no cause it would melt and he LOVES cheesecake so I thought it would be perfect. I will just pull it out of the freezer right before we cut the cake, that way we both get what we want.

One cute idea is making a bunch of cupcakes, and you could do a chocolate frosting and put a mini reese's on top for the theme. Or you could get reese's pieces and put those on top. It would be fairly cheap and if you are having a lot of kids at your wedding it would be a good alternative to them instead of cake. Plus not all your guests will want cake, and that will be another option. We are doing a candy buffet as well as both cakes, and using that as favors. :)

that sounds amazing ...great idea
