I am a Barbadian bride-to-be living in Barbados. I have a Jamaican fiancee and we plan to get married in Jamaica. We have both now graduated university and want to get married. What should be our first step? Does anyone know of any reliable but reasonable wedding consultants in Jamaica who would be able to help me stay in Barbados and plan the wedding of my dreams in Jamaica?

Hey Pebbles
I can't help you, but I would love to come down and visit. I'm sure it is much nicer down there than here. It was 10 degrees this morning with flurries. :)
Good luck and welcome to the boards.

I just got engaged so I was really excited and I bought my first bridal magazine. I bought bridal guide magazine and there is a whole section in the magazine that gives you step by step as to how to plan a destination wedding. You may want to read it, it may give you some insight as to where to begin. Hope that helps a little.

Thanx for the suggestion. Sandals was one of the first places I had checked out, but I not too sure if i ammistaken or if i misunderstood, but it seems like the type of wedding they cater to are the very small ones with about 5 people or so, my wedding is gonna have approximately 150 people so i don't think sandals would be able to help me , but i will try to double check and ensure. :)

That is really exciting that you are planning a wedding in Jamaica. How beautiful. I own a destination wedding planning company and would be happy to help you out or at least point you in the right direction.
Personally I would not use Sandals. You just feel like one tiny person in a huge resort. I don't know if you plan to invite children but Sandals are adult only resorts.
If you would like some assistance or advice I am happy to help but I have lots of questions for you. If you are interested just shoot me an email at teresa@madisonevedesigns.com.
Best of luck to you,
Teresa
