Anybody planning or already had a tent wedding???

If so what is/was the tent style?? did/are you going to have to construct a floor to make the ground level?? did/is your package going to include the tent liner (draping fabric)? what type of lighting are you using??

Also my main concern is that there will not be bugs and insects flying around people's food while they're eating or worse one landing on my cake . How has this worked for you?

I am trying to get an idea of how much a tent wedding would cost?
The only thing I would have to rent are chairs. and chair covers ( I found this great place called nettie's linens and the chair covers are $1.50 and you get the sash free!! ) My church is letting me use their tables but I wanted to get some cushioned chairs since the wedding and the reception woul all take place under the same tent and they would be sitting for a while. Table linens are not neccessary because I have the perfect cost effective idea for my tropical themed wedding.

Any ideas/tips???

My sister got married a couple of weeks ago in a tent. The company the tent ***e from recommended we get an octogon shaped tent. With these tents, there are only poles around the outside, and not in the middle, so you can have the isle. It worked perfect.

I am getting married outdoors on Sept 23. We are having the whole thing outdoors but only the reception is under the tent. We rented the tent, linens, tables, chairs, dancefloor, etc. When considering an outdoor wedding think of the cost! Outdoors you have to think about making sure the caterer, band/dj, etc have electrical hook ups and facilities to do their job- possible renting 1 large tent and several smaller tents. You have to think of bugs, rain, wind, etc. Let's see..... you will almost NEED to hire a planner just to coordinate all vendors involved when you could have just gone to a hall and had everything all in one package. As someone going through all this ****** as we speak, I have to tell you that unless you want something REALLY simple it may not be worth it. Even the most simple wedding outdoors is more complicated.

Luckily, my location is an indoor venue with a large lake in the back. I am having my meal indoors, and under the tent overlooking the cake we will have the DJ, cake, bars, dancing, and the party. But, I didn't want to eat outdoors...I don't like bugs! You may want to try a country club or golf resort or something of the sort that has an indoor room, but also pretty outdoor space for a tent. It 's a nice compromise between the two. Oh, and my ceremony is at a completely different site, a church, so that's not a factor.
