Hello Ladies!!

Besides my whole "mystic backyard" theme. I'm going to do my best to have a kiddie theme on the inside of the house. Such as making sure there are a few DVD's rented that are all age kid friendly, Coloring books for the boys and girls. I'm also going to do some kiddie friendly treats

gold fish
chips
oreo cookies (the strange looking ones)
string cheese
caprisuns (sp?)
baby carrots
olives (DD loves em)
mini-corn dogs
mini-pizza bits

The reception is at my daycare ladies house and she doesn't mind if the kids play with the **** there or crash out whatever...which is super cool...Just wondering how you are entertaining the kiddies....Making it so they don't come is not an option since my two year old will be there. I don't think there will be a load of kids just enough that having something special for them would be nice I think.

That's great. I've been wondering about some of our kids. My FBIL said that they will just either have the babysitter come pick up the kids after a while or get her a room for the night with the kids so they could go swimming or whatever. I don't know what my sister will do, she may just send the older kids up to the room with the little ones. I've thought about including a favor for the kids, just something out of oriental trading company.

Those are great ideas. Its great that you are having the reception at a daycare location.... Talk about convenient.. :D

I originally had thought I would have close to 25 kids at my reception but by the looks of things and some comments from family, I may only have like, 16... YES.... :p

I created my own SARA AND KEVIN'S Wedding Coloring Book. My theme is Baseball, so the favors are baseball-related the kids will get treat packs that match the theme, and the bags will be filled with cool baseball things.

I am still trying to come up with some other ideas, but this is what I have for now. Many of the kids coming are not little babies and toddlers, they are more like 7 and 8 years old, so I'm trying to get some better ideas.... LOL

Yea... The Oriental Trading Company is great... :D

I order things from there alot for my preschoolers. That is where I am going to be ordering the baseball treat bags and favors for the kids.

are you going to have them have thier own table? I have thought about it and considered having the table cloth be paper. and the center piece be a styrofoam ball afixed to a vase (kind of) paint the strofoam ball to your wedding colors and poke holes in it. put crayola crayons in the holes.

like take the base of this flower arrangement

Thanks ladies! I hadn't even thought about this in the midst of the chaos that is planning my wedding. for the 7-10 year olds or so, has anyone thought about a puzzle corner? set up a little spot with a couple different puzzles (varrying in what age and gender they are appropriate for) for the not quite little and the not quite pre teens. Just something that popped into my head.

Well I think it's their parents job to keep track of them and keep them entertained. I'm only having one kid in the wedding and she's old enough to interact with the adults and dance and stuff (she'll be almost 7, I think). As for the other kids in my family, I'm leaving it up to their parents if they bring their kids or not, that way its entirely their choice to bring the kids, their responsibility. If they don't want the responsibility on that particular night, hire a babysitter! My only job for the kids is to make sure I know which kids ARE coming so I can order the right amount of kids meals from the caterers and I know to seat them with their parents. Other than that, not my kids, not my problem.

I was at a wedding recently where they had a separate table filled with coloring books, silly putty, stickers and other age appropriate quiet ****. It kept them busy and we never noticed the kids that much. I think it's a great idea.

We only had a few kids. We gave them kid's packs that had a pad of paper, colored pencils, a toy car, a sippy cup, play dough, and bubbles. It helped keep them occupied.
Also, the kids were age 3-6.

I like the kiddie table idea. I think i'll do that..with having the daycare be there it's really easy to find kid friendly stuff around!! :) I'm gonna have her keep a corner of the yard with some toddler slides and stuff still up so they can let out some energy.

I was thinking about having cup-cakes with sprinkles on top for their cake.

I really would like to help cater to the kiddies just because I have a little girl and I want to help her to have a happy day...cause i know she's gonna feel left out abit...just want her to know she's special and her friends are to!! We are having kids of all ages...not to many i think about 10 or so...the oldest is 16 so not really a kid but i know she'll help with the young ones. I would like the parents to just enjoy themselves and know it's okay to allow their kids to just have fun....thats one of the main reasons why it's at my daycare lady's house.

yea for me more to think about and plan!!!
