Well when I think of winter wonderland, I think snow, christmas, white, etc. You can get christmas lights with white cords instead of green (I might be using these and mines in august, I just think christmas lights are pretty) and decorate the tables or walls with them. You could maybe get some fake snow (cotton) and put it on the gift table, cake table, etc.
I would go with a white cake with red accents since those are your colors.
And again, since red, white and silver are your colors I'd go with red or silver bridesmaids dresses. If you can find a dress that comes in both red and silver you could maybe alternate them.

Those are such great ideas! Thank you. What do you guys think about haveing a christmas tree in the back of the reception hall so guests can put thier gifts under it?

I love the idea of having a Christmas tree for decoration. But, I think putting the gifts under the tree is crossing the line betweeen Winter Wonderland Wedding and Cgristmas Party.

I'm trying to find a picture that I saw that made me want to have a winter wedding....but mine is summer (drats!)
Anyway, they had large clear straight glass containers that were filled with fake snow. In the containers were those tall birch branches that you can find at Jo-Anne's/Michael's/Hobby Lobby and some of the branches were spray painted silver and others were left natural. ...but what I loved was that all the branches had glitter all over them. When they put the arrangements on the floor and the tables, they surronded candles around the base so that when the candles were lit, it really set off the glitter on the branches.
To me it just looked gorgeous! ...and above all, I'm sure it's got to be real cheap to put those together!

Right now or after Christmas, you could get a bunch of silver and red decorations (like tree decorations, snowflakes, etc). I would start looking now and then the day after Christmas hit up all the Wal-Mart, Targets and craft stores in your area. That's the best way to get a deal for something like that. And if you don't care about paying full price, start shopping now for the cannot miss items.

Ok, A little bit of backround: I am 17. Originally, my fiance and I were going to wait until I turned 18 to get married, so we were planning our wedding for December of next year, at a beautiful, all inclusive venue. A week or so ago we were informed that I had been given permission to go ahead with the wedding under age. So, all of the sudden, I'm planning a wedding for THIS december. I have all of the major issues under controll: IE, cateror, venue, flowers, guests, favors...etc...BUT, I'm missing one Major thing: Decorations. I have some ideas, but all of the sudden I have a 200 by 50 Sq. Foot hall to decorate  . I don't have enough ideas to cover that! My theme is winter wonderland, and while I've gotten some great ideas from the prior posts in here, any more would be appreciated. My color scheme is blue (the entire spectrum) and white. Flowers: cream roses and casablanca lillies for the most part. I need help from the masters! Any sudgestions?

I think you are right Kelly. I might do a few trees in decoration, but not do the gifts under the tree. Thanks for your input ladies, keep it up , i love the ideas!

How about a sleigh for all the gifts? And for decorations, this is a great time to pick up glittery snowflakes (the plastic ones are pretty inexpensive.) And don't forget balloons, red, white and silver would be really pretty.

OMG what a great idea, There is a sleigh that the hall has as well, I'm sure we could have acces to it, put it at the back and have that used for gifts! I thought it would make a great background for pictures to! :D Im so excited to start shopping and get some great boxing day sales as well!! :D

I will be having a winter wonderland themed wedding this December and I also have to decorate a hall.
some of my ideas are as follows.....
colors Silver,Navy, and White
Decorations= christmas trees, lights, lanterns, snow, christmas stocking, garland, a bow, and heart shaped orniment favors
this is a little sketch
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
( Christmas Tree )
Gift table W/ _____ Head Table _______ Cake/ Desert table
stocking for cards
Shawn's Family & Friends Rachel's Family & Friends
------ ------
Drink l l Drink
table l l table ------
------
____ Buffet Table___ _____Buffet Table_____
(tree with orniment favors) (tree with orniment favors)
----------------------------- ENTRANCE ------------------------------
the christmas tree behind the head table will be rather large and will have only twinkle lights and one bow (silver and Navy) that will extend the lenghth of the tree.
the gift table will have christmas lights strung in garland and will have a blue and white stocking hanging from the center.
the head table will have an assortment of different sized snow flake candles and will be strung with christmas lights and garland.
the cake table will have a spot light along with christmas lights and garland.
All of the tables will have a lantern along with snow and different sized silver, navy and white christmas balls.
there will be two trees at the enterance and they will have heart shaped orniments/ favors.
before they walk in the will recieve a bell with a card that has a little poem about ring for a kiss and their table number will be on that.
It will be very simple but yet elegant.

My cousin did a snowflake theme a couple years ago. Her colors were navy and silver. She had pretty silver snowflake decorations. She found a navy pillow with snowflakes on it in the Christmas section and used that for her ringbear pillow. She decorated the tables with all different shades of silver and navy candles and had the fake snow confetti down the middle of rectangular tables. You could also use the plastic garland with snowflakes or something.
I love the idea of either the tree or sleigh for presents. Just make sure that you have a sign so guests now to use it and it's not just a decoration.
