Okay, I'm doing a destination wedding to Disney with only 15 people. I don't want to do a reception because its only going to be 15 people, but I want to have a first dance with my FH and my dad. Is there a way to do both? Is there a place at Disney where we could do just a couple dances but not have a full reception? When would the dinner and cake cutting come in?

I think I have asked you before, but I don't remember seeing a response. Have you talked to the wedding coordinators at Disney yet? They plan weddings for as little as 8 people and you get a dinner, dancing, cake...all the stuff that goes with a reception for 150 can be done for a party of 15.

Yeah you'd really have to talk to the people in charge at disney to find out. You might be able to rent out an area for a reception for just an hour or 2 so you can just have the traditional dances, maybe eat dinner and cut the cake.

I am having a hard time getting touch with Maxine, my wedding coordinator. I call her and she doesn't call back for at least a week. And when she calls me, I'm at work so I never get to ask her the questions I need to.

Leave your email address? And ask for hers? That way instead of playing phone tag you can each reply on your own time.

Is Maxine a Disney wedding coordinator? They are usually pretty good about working around your schedule. For what you pay them, they should be willing to call you back at 3 in the morning, if that is what you ask! LOL

I love this board as it has a ton of information. If you go to www.disboards.com there is a board for disney brides.... this is a message board for all things disney and it has alot of great Disney brides there to help along with answer any other Disney questions you may have!!! Good luck

disney wedding coordinators work when YOU want them to. INfact, i just interviewed for a coordinator position. Leave a message and e mail and she will ge back to you. I Know you can talk to anyone there for questions, noone makes commission so dont worry. Also understand there are 500 weddings a week there, you have to be patient and persistant.

Thank you everyone for your help with this. I really, really appreciate it. I guess I'm kind of impatient because I want to feel like my wedding is the most important. I do understand, however, that I'm not the only one.

If you still want dinner and a couple dances, that is basically a reception, just not a full blown reception with 200 people. I would say to maybe look into some resturants in the area that have a back room/party room to rent afterwards so everybody can relax and eat. You could always see if you can bring in a portable cd player and play your dance songs that you want.
