We are having our wedding in late june outside on the waterfront at our local marina park. We would like to incorporate seashells and sand into our decorations. Any ideas?

In a Martha Stewart magazine they made a beautiful cake and decorated it with seashells on each level. They took real seashells and cleaned them very well and then placed them all around the cake and some on the top. They then decorated the cake table with more seashells and sand it looked awesome. You could also take fun bowls and put water in them and seashells that float and sprinkle sand in the bottom of the bowls. Or just place seashells and sand along the tables at the reception along with candles.
Good luck

Faith had some great ideas! To add onto that, you can have mirrors with the seashell candles on them. Makes nice center piece. I got some sea shells off the beach before and cleaned then put a couple coats clear nail polish on them, then put names on them in perm marker, followed my mini stars and more nail polish! They were VERY pretty adn unique. Everyone LOVED them and wanted to know if I had them done or did it my-self... not to mention that they are CHEAP, EASY & FAST! hehe Anyway, you could write your names and date on them. They'd make great favors! :^D you can also wrap stuff in them if you desire and there would be a double gift.
Good Luck ~*Julie*~

How about a sandcastle cake?? Could also carry the sandcastle theme for reception decorations. Have fun.

Go to a site called www.askginka.com and click on "all themes", there you will find a plethora of sites. I have planned so many weddings in my life I can do it with my eyes closed. Also, since you want seashells go to a site called www.shesellseashells.com. You will love it!
Good luck and have fun

You could even have the person making your wedding cake, create it to look like a sand castle.
