My fiance and I have a song that we both want played at the wedding sometime during the ceremony. When is the best time to play a song?

Are you having a unity candle? There is usually a song playing during that so maybe you could use it then. Or depending on the song, you might be able to use it as your recessional. Those are the only things I could think of. Hope that helps.

I am a DJ and this is exactly what I do. Depending on the type of song and how your ceremony goes is how to decide when to play the song.
I like the unity candle idea.
Also, a few more ideas would be:
butterfly or dove release.
walking back down the aisle as man and wife.
Another way to tie in the song would be for you 2 to read the lyrics, while the music plays in the backround. It is romantic that way.
Good luck

Depending on the religion, there is usually a song after the homily (sermon) and before the vows.

You could also have the congregation sing the song as a hymn...we did that with one of our songs (it was the song a soloist sang at my parents' wedding 40 years before our wedding so it had special meaning).
