Well, what colors do you like. Do you want something very vibrant, something soft, something neutral, something classic?
I would like to fit in with the month. I would like the BM dress color to look good on everyone. I like the vibrant idea...the darker the better. I want the colors to go good with eachother. I'm not good when it comes to this. LOL

research what flowers are common in August but in the end it just depends what you like best.

Well black looks goon on almost anyone. As does navy blue and deep purple. With either of those three you coul duse that as your main color and accent with really hot colored flowes, bright reds, yellows, blues, pinks, green or a combination of any of them. Think along the lines of technicolor.
Another idea I really like would be a lime green and hot pink. That would be very summer. Hot pink and bright orange would look fabulous too. Turquoise and seafoam would be a little softer in color but still feel very summer like. Turquoise and bright yellow would work too. Or you could do traditional black and white and mix in fuschia or red for a pop.

the color of august birthstone is peridot. but you can mix it with another color.
I was going to use peridot because my birthday is also in August and I love my birthstone. I couldn't decide between peridot and peri (a blue color) so I let FH decide and he picked the blue.

My wedding is in August and we are doing silver and white with a little bit of a peri color.

I'm glad I helped. I figured you would like it cause you were leaning towards a dark base color with a light/vibrant color in flowers. I would love to be a wedding coordinator, but later on in life. Who knows, maybe I'll have my own business like I wanted.

I'm having an august wedding too!!! Our coulours are red (a nice, rich red, leaning sliiiiiightly towards burgundy) with tons of red and white roses and white heather (scottish tradition says that white heather at a wedding is lucky). Jeff is wearing a kilt that is primarily blue and white with some red....
Red roses are great for late summer....
