To brides, please make sure if you have a large, full crinolin under your dress to pin it closed! Mine just had a small velcro closure, and during the ceremony, it ***e undone when I went to walk back up to the alter. My mom had to take the crinolin from around my feet (it stood about 2 feet off the floor)and shove it under the pew until the end of the ceremony. It made for good humor for everyone, but I was five shades of red! Secure it before you put your dress on!!

Funny, I was a bridesmaid and my friend the bride had the same thing happen to her, luckily it was before she had to walk up the ailse and we were able to pin it before she had to walk.

One day you will look back on it and laugh. I know at the time you weren't amused. But thanks for the advice, mine just has the velcro too.

While your getting ready, jump up and down, run around a little and do some crazy dance moves to make sure nothing is going to pop out or fall out of your dress...

I have seen this happen before as well - When mine ***e in the mail, I was prepared to add snaps and a button - but it actually ***e with it! Its velcro, it has a eye-hook closure AND a button for security. I couldn't believe it! Someone finally started making these things right!
Of course, it'll be hell trying to get the ****ed thing off, but it won't FALL off! :)

A merry widow is a short, strapless corset with half-cups for the breasts and long garters. It was first made by the lingerie company Maidenform in 1952, to coincide with the 1952 film, The Merry Widow, starring Lana Turner. The original Merry Widow foundation garment was a full-length corselette, cut with attractive panels of black and white lace, incorporating slim panels of black elastic yarn net. A heavy-duty zip was inserted behind a velvet-backed hook-and-eye flange, and the whole garment was lined with nylon voile. Nine long spiral wires were cased in black satin. Turner is reputed to have said, "I am telling you, the Merry Widow was designed by a man. A woman would never do that to another woman." To this day, merry widow is the generic term for a corselette bra in the United States. This type of lingerie is also know as a Torsolette and is used in Bridal Lingerie and used like a bustier.

That's a very funny story...sorry it happened to you at your wedding though. And the lingerie story is pretty interesting too....Thanks for sharing your mishap with everyone so we could all learn from it.
