For our honeymoon we are going on the disney cruise. THe first problem was that the cruise doesn't leave until 4 days after the wedding day. So we decided to get a honeymoon suite at Disney and hang out there for a few days before the cruise. The added benefit of this is that we can visit with some of the family that is coming from NY, IN, PA, TN, and OH that is doubling our wedding with a vacation to Disney.

The problem is that we didn't want to get the honeymoon suite for the wedding night because we wouldn't be getting there until about 11 pm or so. And the rate is pretty high, so it seemed like a waste of money.

So, we need to find a room for the wedding night. The problem we are having now is decidind where we want to stay that night. Do we want to stay close to the wedding location so we don't have to go far after the reception? Or do we want to stay closer to Disney so we don't have to make the drive the next day and we can start the fun as soon as we wake up? Or, should we find somewhere in between? It is such a silly thing to debate about because it is only about an hour drive, but ya know....I still want to hear your thoughts...

We are staying close to the reception location, about a block away in fact. We are getting room for the night in the same hotel that our guests will be staying at. We opted for a room since we will be getting in at Heaen knows what time and have to leave for the airport around 7. There isn't a point on wasting the money on a suite for 6-7 hours. We could stay at the airport the niight of the wedding but we ar estill going to get the same aount of rest since we would have to do the 30 minute drive the night before. Either way it works out. How exhausted are you going to be after the wedding? If you know you are going to be tired, than stay closer to the reception.

Staying at the same resort as my guests is not an option. Well, it is, but I don't want to. I work there. So I am already there enough.

We plan on leaving the reception around 9ish. Definitely by 10. So we will be tired, but not because it is too late...just because it will have been such a busy day.

Wow, thats kind of a tough one! I am staying near my reception site because its easiest for us, we will leave for our Honeymoon the next day. For you though, I think it would be nice to stay near Disney so you can start the fun right away! I don't know your budget or anything, but if you had a limo to take you from the reception to the hotel it wouldn't be so bad.

Consider your drive time the night of the wedding. You could always get a limo to drive you from your reception to the hotel near Disney. It's really all up to you. Our hotel room is at the hotel we are having our reception at so all we have to do is get in the elevator and we are in our room.

Personally, I'd want to stay close to the reception site. Just so I could get out of the dress, shower, relax, maybe enjoy some post-wedding booty action...lol.

Ok, seriously...I wouldn't want to drive the hour that night. I'd stay close to the reception site and then make the drive the next morning when you're refreshed and rested.

If you aren't having alcohol at the reception it probably doesn't matter much. However, if you are having any alcohol you probably want to keep it close to the reception. Plus, like someone else said you could get out of your dress, get comfortable and relax sooner.

i think staying close to the reception is a good idea. that way you dont have to go very far. and that way you can go any time the next morning.

A limo is not an option because we will need our car.

And alcohol won't be a problem, although we are having it, we don't plan on drinking much at all.

And as far as wanting to get out of my dress...I will be changing into a going away outfit before we leave the reception.

I would be fine with staying nearer to the reception, but James wants to stay closer to Disney. That is why I thought about staying in between. And like I said...it is ONLY an hour. SO, I guess either way, it doesn't matter.

THanks everybody for your input!!
