I am having eight bridesmaids in my wedding party, and they range from a size two to size 24. I would love any suggestions that would help me to choose the right dress that makes everyone comfortable for the whole night. I have been looking for about a month now, but many stores only carry sizes 8-14 in the store, and the rest can only be ordered if you are buying them. Any help would be wonderful! Thanks!

Hey!
Check out David's Bridal. www.davidsbridal.com They have sizes 2-24 and womens sizes as well as Jr. Bridesmaid dresses. They can also do alterations. Hope this helps!

Always choose the dress based on the largest person in you party. I have a size 24, 14, and 2. My dress choice was based on the 24 and the finished dresses were perfect in the the other two.

you could also choose a two piece dress maybe? or possibly two styles that are similar but not quite...davids bridal is a good place they have the whole range of sizes. Also, if you know someone who can sew or if it's in your budget(theirs) you could try finding a pattern?

My bridesmaids ranged from 2 to 24 also. I took my matron of honor (she's about a 10) and we picked out a 2-piece set with a full skirt. All of the girls looked wonderful.

We are having three bridesmaids, two junior bridesmaids, a personal attendant, and hostess. They range in size from adult size 4 to at least a 22 or 24. We haven't picked dresses yet, but when I look I think about what I would be comfortable in since I fit into the middle of the range. The dress has to have sleeves or straps of somekind. It also has to have substantial coverage in the front. But it also has to look good on everyone. So far I have found a few, mostly from Alfred Angelo, that people have agreed to look at. I am going to take the one bridesmaid that fits into the dress try on sizes and take pictures, then we will all get together and look at the pictures and discuss what they want. I think that by considering how I would feel in the dress is helping me to make better decisions. I even went and tried on a few. If I wasn't comfortable, I removed it from the list. It really sucks when you can't try on the dress. I have the jitters for my future sister in laws wedding in August. I was the only one who couldn't try on the dress in the store and I am afraid of what I'm gonna look like in it.

Get the same color in similar but not identical styles. Pick out a couple different styles from which to choose, and let the ladies pick which makes them the most comfortable. No, they won't look like cookie-cutter bridesmaids, but each will look her best and in my opinion that's better than looking identical.

This past weekend I went with all 9 of my bridesmaids to get fitted for their dresses. They are all varying sizes, but more importantly, they are built differently. The owner of the boutique suggested that we go with a two-piece, A-line with a V-neck. I had my larger bridesmaids try it on and they looked STUNNING! The most important thing is to make sure that everyone is comfortable.

We chose our bridesmaid dresses this week. We got Alfred Angelo dress # 6618. It can be strapless or with spagetti straps. It's an A line with a satin bottice and chiffon skirt. Everyone agrees it will look great on everyone since I have people from size 18 at least to a junior size 10.
