Do you all hate the way they pose for the gown pictures? Most are okay, so you can see the dress clearly, but others are way to artsy, so you can hardly tell how the dress really looks! They either have too many shadows covering up the dress, or the model is posed really wierd. Plus, I find it helpful if they show the back of the dress or alternate angles so you can narrow your search a little better. What do you all think?

Yeah-the picture of my dress, the girl is sitting down!!! You can't even see the whole dress! That's why I took matters into my own hands. The day I bought my dress, I took pictures of me in it to start showing people instead of showing them the one online...

Most definitely hate those artsy poses...especially the black and white ones that are really hard to make heads or tails of. Some of the worst offenders are Reem Acra, Lazaro, Paula Versalona and Justina McCaffrey..
Why you would want to make it harder for people to determine whether they like your gown.

Oh gosh I hate that! They have these teeny tiny pictures of girls in weird poses and you can't tell what the gown really looks like! AGH! You know what I hate even more though? Every time I see a gown on a website that I think I might like, I'll go to a store that carries that brand and they NEVER have that dress! "Well we can order the dress for you", they say. But if they order the dress then I'm stuck with it because I have to buy it in order to order it in... and all sales are final! How I am I supposed to know if I like a dress if all I have to go on is some crummy website picture?

hehe :) because you see something about the dress that you like and it actually gets you in the store to see the whole thing -AND the other dresses they sell that might be more expensive :P

MY personal un-favorite is when the 13 year old, waif-like models have finger-in-the-light-socket hair and clown-school-reject make up. I can't even bring myself to LOOK at those dresses, much less consider them!!

Definately! Who is going to wear frizzed out hair besides on the runway? Because of that, you don't want to even consider the dress, and who knows, it could be the one, you just can't tell because of the horrible picture. It's all about marketing, and some designers forget that if you can't see the dress, you won't want to try to find it. Besides, who wants to hunt for months and months, wasting the salon's time to find a dress, when you have the internet as a great starting point? Great to hear everyone's opinion!

hehe :) no offense taken! I don't purposely style my hair that way! Each hair on my head has a mind of its own! I have NO idea why anyone would purposely do that to themselves! :P

yeah - I have it relaxed on a regular basis so I don't have the afro heheh. It can be manipulated, just takes a long time. I'm going to have loose curls in an updo.

That sounds good! I have the opposite problem. My hair is so straight, (yet frizzy), that it doesn't hold a curl for a long time, and I want something that will last all day. So I think I will go with an updo as well. It always looks so elegant and it lasts.
