Hi everyone! This is my first post, although I've been visiting this site for a few weeks now. So much good info! I've been dress shopping for a little while, and I found a dress that I fell in love with:

Mori Lee Style 2501 (http://www.morilee.com/DressDetail.aspx?C=1&D=2501&P=1)

I tried it on as shown (white and rose) and also in all white. I think the white and rose is sooo pretty and would look great with bridesmaids in soft pink dresses. I also love how the color makes the details of the dress stand out. The white is also gorgeous. It looks so pristine and the beadwork shimmers so beautifully! I just can't decide! OK, I just found it a couple days ago, and my wedding is a year from tomorrow (yea!), but I'd love some input from everyone. My man did mention that he wants me in a white dress (as opposed to ivory), but I'm not sure how he would feel about this color. Any opinions are appreciated!

Hey I am from Sterling Heights, MI!!! That dress is very beautiful. If you like it get it. My fh wants me to have a white dress also. I want to have color in my dress but my mom would freak out. But go with what you like. If you love that dress then get it.

The color is very subtle so it doesn't over power the dress. I think it's very pretty. And would look very nice for an August wedding (mine's next August also, the 5th! So I know what you are feeling right now!).

The pink is soooo pretty in that dress. Don't give it up just because your FH wants you to wear an all white dress. Trust me, he won't even notice the pink when he sees you walking down the aisle anyway. He will just see how beautiful you look. I love the idea of a little color in a wedding dress. It gives it more personality. You won't look like a "cookie-cutter" bride. You will be uniquely gorgeous!

I love that dress! I tend to like a-line styles and will probably get one myself. Beautiful!

Hi! Welcome to the forums! That dress is gorgeous! I like the hint of color. I showed my FI samples of different types of dresses to kind of see what he liked and what he totally didn't like. I would show him dresses that I totally wasn't considering but had some certain thing I liked and see what he liked about the dress and what he didn't like. I showed him some with a bit of color in it, but he personally didn't like those. He said he wanted me to look like a "real bride"! He even wants me to wear the blusher over my face. He's pretty traditional. Maybe you can show him a different dress with color in it and see how he reacts.

thats a good idea! I was wondering about this since my FH was married before and had a big wedding. I dont want to have anything remotly the same as what she had. Last thing i wanted to do was say "hey do you still have your old wedding pics?" thanks CA_Dawson.

I had a small bridal dress catalog and had my FH go through it and mark the dresses he liked. He cringed when I asked him to do it but I told him that it would be nice to try something that maybe I hadn't thought about looking at. He liked mostly strapless and I wasn't really going to look at strapless dresses but I will for him. Who knows, maybe the dress I pick will be one that he marked.

I like the idea of showing him dresses I'm NOT considering to see what he does/doesn't like. I definitely don't want him to come across the dress I want to wear. Even if he says he likes it, I don't want him to think I just picked out the dress he liked. I'll have to do a little searching because I don't remember seeing any other dresses with such subtle color in it. Before I tried this dress on, I totally thought I'd be going with white only. But it's so pretty!
Thanks everyone for the advice & ideas! :)

Go with the white and rose! That dress is so pretty and especially charming because of the color variation. Congratulations on finding -the- dress. Good luck!

I think that gown is GORGEOUS!! And since you said you like it, especially in white & rose, then by all means get it! As for your sweetie....he'll luv it once he sees you in it!!! Trust me! ;)

Hi,

Go with the colour. I was married recently and whilst my dress was of ballgown design it also had a "sprinkling" of coloured flowers across the bodice and down the skirt. Whilst my FH had said that he prefered a "white" dress, he loved this one on the day - it was white, but the small amount of colour really set it off - and it ***e up great in the photos too!

It also really helped to blend the colours of the day together as the bridesmaids dresses complimented the colour of the embroidery on my dress and they had jewellery that matched it exactly. The boys then had cravats made from the same material as the bridesmaids dresses so everything blended really well.

I think the idea of asking you FI what he thinks about another dress that also has a splash of colour on it is a great idea too. That way, if he really hates the idea you'll know and if he's so-so, you've got the chance to tell him that its still a white dress, but that you'd really like something "like this one but not the same".

Good luck. :)
